the old guide is excellent, but without hammers/fetishes, it's no good.

thanks.

parone,
Take a whack at it. If people differ with your guide and provide constructive criticism you may end up with a polished product by the end of the thread.

I like Manchaka, so I would love to see a new guide.Perhaps we could all brainstorm together a bit?

Let's start with Manchaka's god- what kinds of builds do people like? Manchaka's rather squishy until it gets some research, so an SC sounds like a good idea. But it also seems to want some astral access (and especially astral/ earth for crystal items), and maybe some Air. A great enchantress is ideal for that. Or, since Im a noob, I could be missing a much bigger prority. So what do people think god-wise?

For scales Im thinking O3S2H3Mis1Mag1, with a possible argument for growth 3 (old mages, and a viable overtaxing strategy) and maybe magic 3 (for witch doctor researchers).

parone, you funny bum you...lol.

You sound EXACTLY like me when I drew them in a random MP game.

"WTF do I do with these guys"?

Google says it's Top Gun.

It's incredible you didn't know that, BTBG, since both your name and the character list of that film contain the word "Goose".

I've noticed that strangely, Machaka has lately been a real problem in SP games. I think it's the reduction in cost on spiders. The guide's advice on massing lots of these guys is still helpful. For the early game, take some production scales and pump out spiders and hoplites.

The Black Hunters seem to want a bless badly. The rider isn't too important, but the spider is pretty handy. Expensive, though.

Since you have plenty of F magic, Zmeys are an obvious target. Flaming arrows too if you're confronting chaff. For SCs, the death direction seems appropriate. But your E mages should be able to create cyclopses too.

Just random thoughts -- I'm not very good at this :)

The Black Hunters are usually considered not worth much of a bless. Once the rider has died, the Spider's MR is too low to invest much in.

Hmmm, good thought. In that case, probably best to go heavy on production, crank out hoplites, and turtle until you have some useful research.

I'm going entirely from memory.

I remember liking the Colossal Fetish. I remember that you have to be careful with him - because he dies on a rout unless you give him flying - stymphalian wings or Boots of flying or some such.

medallions of vengeance?

The map move of the archers was pretty good...

I seem to remember someone did a lot of tests with the spider riders..

Why would flying save him? He is mindless- doesn't that mean he always dies on a route?

Reminds me of the time when we had "internet class" (quick introduction for those who weren't familiar with it during a more general administrative course.) and our "teacher" used the Flemish comic book series 'Kiekboe' as an example to make some searches. Now, one of the characters in that series is named Fanny...

Edit: Allthough I tried it now, and the first Colossal Fetish result, both for articles as for images is actually the Dominions one. Is the internet growing up? ;)

He's supposed to. However there is a strange edge case (which might have been fixed in a patch) that if one of these units that is supposed to die gets off the board in one turn - he didn't die.

I spent a lot of time looking at that and it was consistent.
It was something like you needed to fly and have two move actions (either from quickness, the heroic ability, quickness the spell, or the magic item).

The second one was about strange fetishes, didn't google search actually. I'm all out of brain bleach.
