I am right now in an MP game playing as EA Abyssia (it is CBM) and the opponent is using devils against me with a great success. While I understand that it is me who has to have a lot of devils - dodnt judge me too strong - i took over another guy who did not bother with bloodhunting.
I have const 6 Conj 9 blood 8 researched. And i have 2 archdevils and 2 ice devils sumoned. Basically i would be interested in some SC design to be able to kill armies of 30-40 devils without some unique artifacts.
My first idea was to get Archdevis with frost brand, eye shield, horror helmet, hydra skyn armor, boots of the messenger, amulet of luck and heart of life. But may be there are some better designs? For example, may be it would be more effective to arm him with athame to lifedrain? I have phoenix pyre researched so extra reinvig might help....
Anyway any ideas would be highly appreciated
P.S. i have quite a good magic diversity so almost any items can be considered

Does the Bell of Cleansing Water work well? It's supposed to damage all demons on the battlefield. Not sure on the name of it. There's also that spell that does the same. I think it's Water 2. You said you had magic diversity, so hopefully you have water. Also there's the holy pyre spell from that sword: flambeau?

Bell of Cleansing Water like the spell you mentioned does not affect the whole battlefield. And i do not think that casting spells would let 1 archdevil kill 30 devils....

If you are abysia then you should be fielding Zmeys. They are resistant to a devils attacks and immune to their heat auras. You might want to give it poison resistance as the enemies tails might (or might not, wiki is down) be poisonous.

did you try it? if yes - what was your itemisation
I was using zmeys with amulet of luck/ lickantrop amulet/something else - it did not work they were dieing. The thing is - devils are immunte to fire attacks of zmeys

Does your prophet have blood? If so a blood sabbath boosted communion banishment would be quite nasty and light on the blood slaves. You'd need to have your mages/slaves protected in a mass of chaff though. Always test first.

well, like i said, problem is solved. The archdevil mention earlier is killing any amounts of devils. Although i guess mind hunt will be a problem

Excuse my ignorance, but is Holy "Banish Demon" inadequate? Damage not enough? Insufficient priests, too many demons? Priests get swamped by flying demons too early?

Probably that. Devils can close in on your priests on their first turn and have a heat aura that makes sticking your priests in a blob of chaff much less effective.
Additionally, the OP may not have been ready for a massed devil invasion, and doesn't have the ability to levy enough priests quickly enough.
