I recently upgraded my computer (from a Core 2 to an Ivy Bridge), which included a new Crucial M4 256GB SSD as my boot drive. I had been running Dominions 3 on the D: drive, which is now the E: drive. It's been over four years since I installed Dom 3 on this computer, and I can't remember if it needs to write anything to the registry or Windows.

Can I simply run Dom 3 from the directory it's in on the E: drive now, or do I have to re-install from my CD and patch up to 3.23?

Considering that people have copied their Dominions installations to a flash drive and run it from there I don't expect you'll have any problems. I think the installer basically just adds shortcuts to the Start/Programs menu.

Btw, the latest patch is 3.27.
