Hello, since I didn't find any game I decided to create one.

map : parganos Llama fix (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=39857&highlight=parganos) (just a suggestion, don't be shy if you have a better one ;) )

Number of players : 8 ( but we may go to 6 if there isn't enough people )

Age : LA ( here again all suggestions are welcome )

Mods : CBM 1.94

HoF entries : 15

Graph : off

Rename : on

I will be using Llamaserver.

Hosting period will be of 24h for the beginning. Extensions can be requested.

Trade agreements must be fulfilled. Diplomacy is otherwise free for all sneakiness and/or righteousness :D .

Everybody is welcome, but the overall level should be rather low (at least for me).

like I said everybody is welcome, and your level is well fitted for this game ( at least I think ). I don't mind having very good players either, my only concern being really good players rushing through newbies and wrecking them in a few turns ( don't get me wrong, if your strategy implies rushing your welcome to do it, but keep in mind that we are all here to have a good time :angel )

I don't think the seas have magic sites. I think we are playing with the dead seas version which has the commands below in the map file."killfeatures" eliminates magic sites.

Could I get an extension? There seems to be a problem with my mails or the llamaserver. I've send my turn in 3 times now but nothing is happening. When I look at the latest update time it says 18.56 gmt in all games so I think the llamaserver isn't updating anymore.

Well I survived Jotun and TC's attacks. I pretty much wiped out Acro's initial attacking army and now it looks like I'm going to get to wipe out Bogarus's army too... I'm sure as hell not going to win this but at least I'm having fun handing out a few arse woopings along the way ;)

Same here, on the road for 48hrs or so. No internet. Also It was aggressive diplomacy, if I fail then I fail, if I win then I had already set the precedence for claiming those lands.

Now that being said I'm confused at what you plan on accomplishing, I have great strategic depth and you are literally marching a circle around Caelum and Jomon; I don't know how you expect to hold that.

Well game theory, if I go in with an anti-undead communion then I'd probably do poorly against you after. Now if C'tis was in the center of the map then he'd probably be dead. I suppose we should include C'tis in these discussions.

Ctis was in the middle of Bogarus jotenhiem tc and Arco. Only two of those yet remain and yet Ctis keeps on chugging along hanging by a thread. Although I have done battle with and won at least temporarily vs all my neighbors despite my tiny size

This may sound a bit selfish but I'm not really ready to concede the war to Bogarus yet. It will be interesting to see how things turn out.

Not selfish at all. I agree. The 3 of us are very competitive with each other in scores. Also not a foregone conclusion that we will defeat Arco. Even if we do, it could easily turn into a 3-way fight (instead of 2 against 1) or any of us may come out of the Arco wars substantially stronger.

I know for a fact that Jomon and you have battled. I also know that Bogarus and you are a war. You invaded the C'tis homelands and they are also fighting back at you (Apparentely C'tis bloodied Arco's nose pretty badly a few turns ago).

There is only 1 global up. its been up the entire time. Everyone has promised to leave it up (Just Kidding).

As far as recent events, I don't think anything major other than the start of everyone going after Arco due to their huge expansion. I'll let others fill in though.

The whole game has been pretty uneventful really, the only war I took part in was with Bogarus and Caelum against Marignon. I think Caelum conquered T'ien Ch'i and Arco defeated Utgard. Not sure about the rest. Otherwise we've all been calmly watching each other. No globals apart from the one currently up, in fact this current World War is probably the most interesting thing to happen for the whole game.

There are two globals up. Ctis put "Foul Air" up, which seems fairly annoying. My NAP with Arco ends either next turn or the turn after (all communication with Arco was done in game so I have to go through old turns to be sure, which I will do at some point).

Jomon, Bogarus and I all worked together to defeat Marignon, while Arco single handedly crushed Utgard. After which Arcos great strength and heavy handed diplomacy (though we might have attacked him even if he was being really friendly) led Jomon, Bogarus and Caelum (I) to all to declare war/end NAPs with him.

Yes. I've got to concur with Debaser on that point. The previous ruler of Arco was somewhat arrogant about claiming C'tis lands that he had not conquered yet. Made all the more funny when C'tis crushed his inavding force.

On a side note. C'tis and Bogarus had a brief, uneventful war...but have now made peace and are working together to give both sides a path towards Aroc.

Hey guys - I got slaughtered this turn and I'm not too keen on playing 3 against 1 against people who are obviously not newbie / intermediate players. I'm still learning the game and this is already turning into a bloodbath where my lack of experience is going to just get me wiped out very quickly. So let me know if you want me to turn Arco AI or what, but the AI would probably give you all a better fight at this point.

I think Minor Kitty kind of left you holding the bag. Arco's position was not as strong as was advertised and the previous owner bailed just as the rest of the world was about to bring them down.

Don't turn AI yet please. I will delay hosting. I need to ask the other players here: Should we try for a sub, or turn Arco AI?

I thinking finding a sub will be difficult and going AI might be best way to go at this point.

I'm willing to break my NAPS with both Jomon and Bogarus and join Arco if he wants to continue playing and you guys think it will make for a more interesting game. Arco will have to improve his understanding of the game really quickly though if we are to have a chance (using mages with his armies, equipping SCs and thugs, ect).

Starcryst: Does that work for you? I think Jomon and Bogarus both have NAP3s with Caelum. I think waiting 3 turns will be devestating for Arco but everyone deserves a little time to prepare.
So what do you say as far as Caelum is concerned, everyone can script attack orders anytime AFTER this current turn?

This was my original strat, to try and woo Caelum into an alliance to balance the playing field. But what I've learned in my first engagements with you two, is that I'm woefully unprepared for dealing with advanced player strats. You guys both had strats in place anticipating my movements and I've just burned 1/3 of my military force and a huge portion of my gems to no effect because your kung fu >> my kung fu. I seriously doubt I'll be able to stem the tide at this point and I think by forcing an alliance we are just dooming Caelum to a short bloody war with a newbie player as an ally.

Not that I don't want to help out, but I don't see any way to stop either Bogs or Jomons main army (or even slow them down). I think if you invite a more seasoned player into the position with an alliance with Caelum in place, then you'd have a game worth playing. I think I'm just going to be a glorified punching bag until I get more experience under my belt.

Sorry about this, but I simply had no idea how advanced players who call themselves "intermediate" are. Let me know what you guys decide to do.

StarCryst: I've read several implications that Lumix and I are somehow advanced players. I think you can look at other games I've played and see that is not true. I know that Minor_Kitty advertised the Arco position as dominant. minor_kitty was wrong.

The best way to learn is to play people a little better or that know a few tricks of the trades and learn from it. THat is much better than a dominating win.

I suggest we take a 72 hour break. We can all give you a few pointers on the game. Debaser obviously has some ideas in mind that are good ones. My guess is that if you take this offer your forces may not be victorious but you will learn much more for the next game you start fresh.

Sure I'm game. I took this position not because I thought I'd win but because I wanted to learn, so this is ideal. I didn't know you guys would be so helpful - I thought I'd just stepped into a buzzsaw and that I'd be steamrolled and that didn't seem like fun or like a good learning experience.

I am traveling in San Fran right now on work and I have little time for the game atm. I'll be back on Sunday and can get back into the game on Monday. I'll get my next turn in tomorrow or the next day and then I can get back to more consistent turns next week.

1) I have game on hold until Monday morning and can delay more if needed.
2) Starcryst has gotten some pointers. If you need some more details (like Debaser mentioned mage support and kitting out thugs/SC's) just ask.
3) Arco war against Jomon and Bogarus is still on.
4) After this turns hosts, next turn war starts between Caelum vs. Jomon, Bogarus (i.e. we can script attack orders next turn).
5) Didn't forget about C'tis. Our arrangement still stands.

If anyone has any questions or disagrees with above, let me know.

Vanheim please. I'm most concerned about a balanced map. The last two games I played the starting locations leaved a lot to be desired. It doesn't have to be wraparound, but having the starting locations relatively fair would be nice.

Guys I wanted to apologize for going stale in this game. As a new player, I took on too many games at once and then real world stuff got in the way and I simply didn't have the time to stay on top of the games I'd committed myself too.

I should have come by when it became clear I couldn't continue and given you warning so that you could find a replacement. I won't make that mistake again as its not considerate of the other players.

I limit my games to one at a time. They start of very quick and easy and can turn into never ending monsters that suck up your time and your day dreams.
