more notes:
The link to buy Dom3 from Desura for $9.99 does not work yet
The patch links might timeout a few times. That machine isnt meant for this load.
According to LLamaBeast 3.28 can process 3.27 files but a 3.27 player cannot read the player files he gets until he upgrades. So most servers are upgrading now. Including mine (www.Dom3Minions.com)

Is $9.99 going to be the price then? That should attract more players.

I can't get dominions to work after I installed the new patch
It says can't create config file

If you get that error, you need to reinstall dom3. And then reapply the patch. At least that is what this topic :http://z7.invisionfree.com/Dom3mods/index.php?showtopic=1163 says.

It's a link to Illwinter's Desura CoE3 page at the moment. There has been no news on the actual pricing yet. None that I have heard anyway.

So far the patching problem has only been reported to me as Win7. Anyone with other OS's getting it?
Fixes have been reported as:
reinstall Dom3 (deletes config? has anyone tried just deleting the config?)
or having Dom3 in a directory outside of the "Program Files" structure.
or (the official Windows answer) is that the exe needs to be run as Administrator
This is probably also true of Vista, and possibly Win8

I can't find a change log for this patch.
Someone knows where?

Its not a large amount of changes Im afraid. But it does overlap the period with a large amount of changes in Illwinters other game Conquest of Elysium 3

Just to verify, I have an ongoing Llamaserver game: I should patch my game to 3.28, right? The game had started with 3.27.

Yes you should. You can send in turns still, but new turns you get you cannot open.

No backups of the machine?
Does it ask for your key? I didnt realize the install wiped a file in place.
Is the email gone? I have emails going back ot the late 70's (but then thats one of the joys of always owning or admining the ISP server Im on)
The key is in a plain-text file named "key". If you are in Windows it can be opened with notepad or wordpad. I would advise you to write it into your manual or mousepad or under your keyboard. (in fact I would advise EVERYONE to do that right now)

FYI: I found uninstalling and then installing to a non program files folder (I installed to C:\dominions3) worked...Other options did not.

If I spent less time posting and more time looking I probably would have found the CD faster.

Doesn't look like they changed much, not from Gandalf's link.
