Evil Clowns: Reasonable pacing. open to everyone with at least some MP experience. Random Nations.
Map: Realm of Roaring Rhinos (http://koti.kapsi.fi/elmokki/dom3/maplist/files/roaringrhinos.zip)
Age: Multi Era
Players: Depends on interest, but hoping for 12-18.
Mods: Single Age Mod (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showpost.php?p=608870&postcount=41), CBM 1.94 (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showpost.php?p=810939), Streamers & Standards (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=39989)
Hosting: Llama Server starting at 28H and then adjusting depending on the needs of the other players.
Settings: Default, but with Charts Off, Renaming On, and Hall of Fame 15
Victory Conditions: To the bitter end or until a consensus is reached by ALL players.
Diplomacy: Everything goes, but trades are binding.
Exploits: The usual, e.g., Copying Bogus's Orders, overfilling labs, etc.
Rules: Please don't go AI without discussing it first.
All nations will be assigned randomly with a choice of a single re-roll. If we end up with too many water nations (based on the map), we'll make suitable adjustments. Please post if you're interested.

Thanks for your interest everyone. I made a few updates to the front posting. I figure it will take a few days to gather enough players before I do the randomization (which I'm going to do via a spreadsheet if anyone is curious).
I want to do random nations to push my comfort zone a bit and learn more about the game. I figure other folks might have a similar interest.

We're at 10 players right now. I'm going to give another day before I send out the nation list. It will probably take a day or so to iron out the nations (for those who want to re-roll), so I figure we'll be ready to upload pretenders by about Wednesday.

Instead of using the re-roll I suggest each player gets offered 2 random nation and then can pick the one they want. Would save some time since no request for re-roll slowing the start down.

Far below are the nation assignments.
I figure with only 11 of us that The Realm of Roaring Rhinos (no fixed starts) would be a good map, although we might need to revisit this if Ghoul and PsiSoldier both pick water nations.
If this looks good, I'll fire off the game tomorrow evening after folks have a chance to comment. Please let me know what nation you plan to pick so I can adjust the front page.

Hah. I had some technical difficulties when I was playing around with the game settings last night. I think I need to redo them all (I set the games to 12 players), so please hold off uploading pretenders until I send out the official link later tonight.
Also, when I do send out the link, you're free to change your mind about your nation choice and use the alternative choice. For instance, I'm likely going to go EA Fomoria, but there's a small chance I might go LA Ulm.

I updated the first summary post with a link to the MAP. I also increased the Hall of Fame from 10 to 15 and extended the hosting interval from 24 to 28 hours.

Yeah you ate my first army that tried to tackle your cap pretty good. Note to self, don't attack defended castles with Ermor without heavy mage support...

Ermor has quite a few fear inducing units that can cause problems for thugs. A few turns ago one of my not-so-manly thugs tangled with one of Ermor's Wraith Centurion's and a small horde of assorted uglies, and fought for a couple of turns before turning tail and running away in terror.
It's probably too late for you, but using Fire Plate and a Dragon Helmet gives +7 morale and fire immunity for only 10 fire gems, which might come in handy against Abysia as well.

EH, do you need me to crank up the hosting interval? The war has just begun, and I know it must be pretty time-consuming to take your turns with the size of your empire.
Also, that last turn reinforces my belief that Mind Hunting has diminishing strategic returns. The more hunters a nation fields, the less effective they become. This means, of course, that one hunter can be highly effective by mitigating against lone SC attacks or at least altering how those attacks are carried out.
To the other surviving nations, with the recent demise of Abysia's prophet last turn, whose brain mysteriously exploded, the Ark and Barrier are now available for forging.

I had to add an additional 18-hours to the clock after I realized that I couldn't finish my turn tonight. From my side, I think my upcoming turns will be more reasonable in terms of time since I'll have completed most of my strategic plans.
No idea about Abysia, although I can say that if I experience multiple failures on the battlefield over the next couple of turns that this game will almost certainly be Abysias, so if these turns tend to drag out its for a good reason :)

This game has already started, so you wouldn't be able to join whether you had the CBM mode installed or not.
If you want to install CBM, you need to download it (I think you can grab it from http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=12010&d=1347368740) and then then copy the contents in the mod directory under dominions3.

Something weird happened that turn. I knew Evil Homer was going to use a horror to try to block me in Oune (158) so that one of my armies couldn't reinforcing my fortress in Endron (153), so I Cloud Trapezed a thug to reinforce the province. However, his action didn't go off and Abysia's did. I checked my last turn, and he still has the proper orders set, so I know it didn't get reset.
I'm assuming what happened is that Abysia's horror ritual triggered before my own and seized the province, making my cloud trapeze ineligible. However, I thought all of the magic actions took place simultaneously?
That's a bit of a bummer because I was hoping to shatter two of Abysia's main armies. I guess I'll have to settle for one :)

Mystery resolved: I'm an idiot :)
My guy did make it to the battle, I was just dense to notice it at first. The horror feared everyone away -- including my thug. This was partially due to luck (in general I won during the replays), but also because fear +10 is pretty nasty (+10 squares and checks are at 12).
Horrors in general are pretty effective. The only counter I can find is to to just retake the territory with my armies of Marignon raiders, which works actually works quite well, but if I didn't have that defensive force I think I would be in trouble -- especially since Abysia has a lot of money to sink into a good PD backed by Fata Morgana.
If I could go back in time I would only used 1 PD so less of my dudes would have died, which would have given time for my thug to take care of the menace.

Sweet battles, Evil Homer. My reinforcement of Endron was questionable, but I had the resources and I wanted to make you bleed.
I had debated whether to send in an attack force first to drain your gems before the battle, but I wanted to make sure you cast Army of Gold so I could maul you with Wraithful Skies while you were vulnerable, and I figured I need every unit to prolong the battle.
I thought about using Mists of Deception to hold you at bay a bit longer and reduce your range, but I didn't want to risk too many of my kings. In retrospect, that would have been the way to go.
Either way, I'm pretty sure I can wreck your armies you're sending against me, but with your over-powering resource advantage you're going to slowly grind me to dust. Still, I'm still got a few tricks up my sleeve, so this game isn't quite over yet.

Evil Homer extended hosting by 24-hours.
Since his turns are big and ugly, I gave him the admin password so he could add time when necessary. Matty/Ossa, I think you guys are good on the time front, but if you want this type of access then drop me a line.

Funny I had gone to bed after a long day and had completely forgotten about the game. Just before sleep hit me I remembered and managed to add 24h about 6 minutes before the game hosted. Anyway, turn is up now - Enjoy

It looks like Evil Homer added 36-hours to the clock. I take that as a good thing since it means he probably thinks he can still lose this thing.
Homer, If you want to call this thing a tie, just let me know :)
Anyone else get the feeling we're the last ones in the bar and they are about to turn off the lights for Dom 4? Or maybe I'm the last one -- not very many posts around here anymore.

Guys,
There have been quite a few extensions granted this turn (5 so far), which I take as a sign that we need to extend the interval. We're now on a 124-hour clock, which pushes out the hosting date/time to 13:42 GMT on Wednesday October 2nd.
I also changed the admin password so that all extensions will go through me again. I'm doing this so that I can make sure these extensions are communicated to us all and try to maintain some forward momentum.
Moving forward, please try to give me 24-hour notification if you need an extension. I usually check the forums a couple of times a day, so I don't think this will be an issue. If you need a longer hosting interval, please let me know.

Yeah those extensions is due to a higher then normal work load. Things have cleared up now, so looking forward it will be better - I do however require 4 more hours, working on the turn now.

I hate to say this, but I think we should call this game for Evil Homer. He has an overwhelming advantage in every game metric (territory, gems, income, etc.) and has already conquered 3/4 of the map.
I was thinking that I had a chance against him since my main armies are still relatively intact, and I'm a stubborn SOB when it comes to these types of games, but I think all I'm doing at this point is prolonging the inevitable and wasting everyone's time in the process. I could prolong the end by many many turns and make Evil Homer pay dearly for coming after me, but it seems futile. If Dominions 4 wasn't here, I'd probably stick it out longer, but I'd rather focus on the new game then spend a few more months playing Dominions 3.
If anyone feels strongly about continuing, then I'll soldier on and continue to play as best as I can. I've added 48-hours to the clock to give everyone a chance to comment.

I really enjoyed the game, but I am fine with ending it now. Turns are fairly long and while you have caused me to loose some significant battles the gems-slaves-money quickly recovers those looses.
Thanks for the game, and hope to see you in dominions 4 !

I'm going to give some time to Ossa to comment before officially declaring the game over.
I didn't elaborate in my earlier post, but I'm pretty sure you would have been able to dom kill me if our armies had stalemated on the battlefield. Your dominion was already washing over me, and I didn't have a lot of money to buy additional holy units to push back your dominion.
I was going to hit you with waves of my sneaky Morrigan's and try to blizkrieg you with a wave of my Fomorian thug-kings, but with all of your fortresses and SCs, you probably would have been able to stop me.
Overall, I feel like I fought pretty well, but you were just to big for me to take-down. If we had been comparable in size, things would have been a lot different :) But it is what it is and you fought a great game. You're ability to quickly advance in the mid-game and destroy everyone before you secured your win.
