View Full Version : visualization of damage unit

The damage to the unit are shown in the unit menu, Headquarters menu(H) or Unit details (right click)
Is it possible to display it in the game interface under the term suppression (red color)
It would be faster to check the status of a unit.
Of course, it should not be that this results hours and hours of programming. It would also require that it is not the demand of a single player.
What do you think?

It is entirely possible - worth investigating anyway.

Have time to study the possibility of integrating the damage to the main view in the future patch ?

Ah....... just read the entire thread .
No, it wasn't looked into. A lot of things in this patch are little things we've wanted to address but never got around to

Thank you for the answer.
Perhaps a later patch? (Fingers crossed!)
You are doing a superb job.

In a future update, could you incorporate my old request ?
I admit it would be nice to immediately see the number of damage to a unit without having to click on it.

It's on the list to investigate........ at first glance this seems like something I could code but RL keeps "complicating" things. I do see the usefulness of the idea though

Even just being able to see the status of a unit directly on the map (Ready, Suppressed, Broken, etc.) would be very useful.

Here is a quick screen shot of the new changes as its currently implemented for full game owners.
The existing status field is now shown in yellow if buttoned or pinned, red if in retreat or worse.
The existing suppression field is now green if 1 (not there if 0), yellow if suppressed >1, red if it is in retreat or worse.
If damaged, the damage value is now shown in red below the status field. (new field)

That's excellent and really improves readability. I love it! What I meant, though, was: would it be possible to have some sort of status indicator on the unit's icon itself? I mean, right there on the map, without the need to manually select the unit?
Maybe a P for Pinned, R for Routed, etc?
Another option could be to change the color of the platoon markings on the unit's icon, when these are activated (white=ready, yellow=pinned, red=routed)...

Superb, a long time ago that I dream!
The patch will be valid for only the paid version or also for the free version?

New stuff is generally only provided for the full game.
This one will need a tweak - since the passenger status and altitude for helos uses the same areas. So it'll probably go out to the right of the current status area, therefore that needs a wider screen than the free demo's 800 pixels.
cheers

Thank you for the answer.
Too bad for me that has only the free version. I do not have a large display (1024x768)
