Could you tell me all of messages in the bottom bar during battles and their meaning? With the messages containing numbers, I hope that you explain them in general.

like "Pen1 Arm4 @ 18 degrees"?

Yes. I think that some messages are too summarized to understand for people whose native language isn't English. Then some massages are so rare to appear that I don't know about them. I need your information!

It's not really necessary to follow those messages. "Pen1 Arm4 @ 18 degrees" means something like the shot penetrated 1 centimeter on that part of the tank (or other AFV) where the thickness was 4 centimeters, with a slope of 18 degrees. In that case it would not likely do any damage and the tank would survive.

At least, that's what I THINK it means, since I don't pay much attention to those messages. You can be sure that if the shot DOES penetrate the armor it has an excellent chance of destroying the target and you will see it get blown up. For "soft" infantry targets you get messages for casualties and for aircraft you get damage reports. But I usually rely on the visual effects to tell me what is happening.

What jivemi said was is right.

It's Chinese New Year now and I'm busy preparing for this. Sorry for the delay:)

If you want to translate these unfortunately I think you will have to write them down as I am guessing their are a lot.

Most common lists firing unit, target & the range

Then the effect on target as in
Casualty 2 (2 men killed)
Armour penetration messages I am sure someone could give a simple explanation including what ** means.
Unit destroyed
Unit disbanded (to few men left so destroyed) Full explanation - no longer able to fight so splits up & hides - morale broken.

Are these more what you are looking for & again I don't know correct wording

Firer paniced

Various ones concerning assaulting vehicles
Tank panic
Assault failed a man was killed.

Hit by shell splinters no effect
Vehicle immobilised
Landing checks for airdrops

I think the asterisks (**) indicate a "critical hit" in a spot that's weaker than the surrounding armor. Like the rear exhaust, turret ring, driver's viewport, MG mounts, whatever. Sometimes--almost like in quantum physics, where it's theoretically possible for a cannonball to pass unobstructed through a glacis--you just get really lucky.

An asterix is a damage star, and is part of the post-penetration damage results notification.

You basically get one for a crewman killed, or a weapon or engine damage result, or other major catastrophic penetration result. Try looking at the current statistics for one of your own units that has suffered such a result and you'll probably see this - might be down to 2 men from 4, may be missing the main gun or bow MG etc.

It was never explained in the SSI "documents" either.

The message of casualties are followed by a number in parentheses like "(1)". What does it mean?

DRG

The message of casualties are followed by a number in parentheses like "(1)". What does it mean?

The number in parentheses following a casualty report is the total number of casualties on the unit so far in the game.

eg if report said "1 casualty (4)" it would indicate that attack caused 1 casualty for a total of 4 to that unit so far.

What is difference between "Front( Side/Rear) hit no effect" and "non-penetrating hit"?

DRG
February 1st, 2014, 07:28 PM
Nothing really. The "non-penetrating hit" is the old SSI " track hit" which did nothing

What difference is between normal hits and the hits with "Shot hits target weak point for X extra penetration", especially about mean of "X" in the message?

DRG
February 25th, 2014, 07:59 AM
it means the shot overpenetrated it's normal amount and "X" would be the amount so in the game the message might be "Shot hits target weak point for 3 extra penetration"
