Greetings folks. Played this battle twice now and the Israeli tanks simply refuse to opfire. Even when the Egyptian tanks charge up close they just sit there, waiting for the Izzy player turn before you can fire them manually. Just wondering if the scenario designer planned it this way. Thanks.
--SPOILER ALERT--
The same isn't true for the Egyptians, who begin firing as soon as you come in range. Lost two (out of four) tanks on Turn 1 first time I played it; second time I "only" lost one. An interesting scenario in any event.

There are no opfire filters set by the scenario designer in this scenario. Or at least, if you load the scenario - it says the units aren't filtered.
However the Israeli tanks are refusing to fire at perfectly good targets. So something is borked in this scenario.
Fix - set some op-fire filters that allow engagement of T-62, and then the tanks will opfire fine. (The Y key filter does not help here, so free demo users cannot do this).

I can confirm that these four israeli tanks don't do any opfire whatsoever, even when egyptian tanks are adjacent to them (I used smoke right next to vhex, to let them that close).
But I put these four tanks under opfire AFV filter (only AFV), and they seem to opfire normally.
This is the save game, filtered and unfiltered:
Edit: well, Andy beat me to it.

I found a few other scenarios where enemy advance on you and they all fire happily at advancing targets.
So it is just this scenario that is a wee bit snookered - for some weird reason or other unknown to me.

This changed DAT file has had opfire filtering applied.
Israeli tanks now fire at the advancing T-62s.

Another scenario affected is 276 Battle of the Bridges, the Chieftains don't opfire. Great scenario BTW, very challenging.

I just tried this, and they fire fine at my end.

You're right, sorry my mistake, I must take more water with it.

You can say that again. After about 12 turns I succumbed to The Audacity of Hopelessness and bailed out. In my defense it seems that when Mr. Gailey says north and east in the battle description he means the left and top of the map--as opposed to top and top-right--so I mistook the eastern horde for both enemy columns until it was too late. Next time should be a charm though.
(Sorry for the off-topic but thought I'd sneak in a brief acknowledgment of crushing loss as a warning to others.):hurt:

Yes,I considered myself lucky to get a draw on the first attempt at this despite being totally overrun. Another scenario which is "challenging", more like suicidal, is Glosters at the Imjin
