I noticed quite interesting thing. I chose Germany vs. Russia 1944 and let AI choose troops (and let AI play both sides just for fun;)) for both sides in Battle Generator. 10000 points per side. After some turns I noticed that AI added reinforcements (5 tanks for German side)... I have never seen that happened in SPWW2 before (I'm not tried same thing in MBT yet). Couple turns later AI added reinforcements (couple tanks) for Russia too. Is this "feature" added into newest version or is it been there since beginning? Cool thing anyway:p... Has anyone noticed same earlier?

I ran once into a hex with 6 infantry squads and 4 tanks deep in enemy teritory, in a little forest. I 1st facepalmed hard cause of such a waste from the AI, realizing just later that it uses them as some sort of reserve.

Also once had a counterattack by 3-4 Churchills onto my JT company (you can imagine the result) - interesting is it happened in the closing turns of a meeting engagement, and I was fairly close to the edge of the map.

The AI has been coded to occasionally hold back some of it's points as reinforcements for years

Yep,That's why you can't get too confident you are routing the enemy near end game.
Not always the AI will deploy all it's assets on deploy:eek:

It could be cool to have reinforcement feature as "normal" player (not AI) in battle generator. Now you must think carefully what units to choose before battle. I must confess that I choose too much tanks often;) (maybe I hate losing battle to AI;))... So winning is too easy that way. That's why it could be nice to "share" some tank units into another later phase of battle (let's say turn 12 AI will add 5 tanks and so on)...

You as a human already do - simply leave the reinforcement troops by the baseline for later use.

It definitely makes life interesting sometimes... Of course, if there is a big force discrepancy (like the JT example mentioned), AI cannot do much about it, but when you leave a depleted company (by now almost down to platoon strength) to guard an objective cluster and suddenly a fresh Pz III platoon appears...

Yes Andy I should do it. But sometimes temptation to use "everything what you have" is too big;)... Human nature can be weak (at least mine):). Hmm maybe I should let AI to choose "sensible" amount units (what comes to amount of tank units for example)?
