View Full Version : Reaction turn on 98 and yet they run towards you

OK, I am recently doing "double assault" scenario: it is set to be assault by player 2, but when player 1 receives reinforcements he is tasked to attack from a flank, which means then player 1 needs to assault.

I set the defensive perimeter of player 2 by giving them reaction turn to 98... they ignore it and keep attacking, abandoning their posts.

Anyone knows the solution to this issue?

This is set up initially as a P2 assault... correct ? 98 only works when the AI is set to defend OR attack , not both in the same game if I understand the description correctly

This is what I would do:

1) Make the scenario a player 1 advance or assault mission.
2) Give the AI forces the majority of the Victory Hexes.
3) Buy the defending AI forces and deploy them.
4) Change the scenario into a meeting engagement.
5) Buy the AI forces you want to advance on Player 1 and deploy them.
6) Set reaction turn on the AI forces you want to attack. Assign waypoints. Maybe reinforcement turns.
7) Change the scenario back to Player 1 advance or assault.
8) Fix the player 1 units.
9) Profit

(Note: when the human player has successfully captured enough VHs the AI will counterattack with its mobile units, regardless of reaction turn.)

For now I set it to P1 advance (this side will be player's so shouldn't be an issue) and gave attacking elements reaction turn as soon as game starts. So far (but made only 5 turns in tests) defenders are defending and they are doing so even if player starts with 10 flags out of 21.

I will report in later if stuff doesn't go well.
