Setting unit Firing range

Carrying on with my, not played for a long time, questions.

I know you can use the Y key to set the range and also use the new Op fire key but I think I remember being able to set the range in the Unit or HQ menus.

I don't recall being able to set range in the unit menu - set particular weapons on or off is all.
