I understand to determine the players victory level isn't dependent on the number of objectives you have captured, but instead the number points awarded from capturing them. This seems fine, but I was playing a random battle vs. the AI and captued only 6 objectives and the final score was in his favor by only 100 points. He, or I should say it, had 15 objectives. Thats 6 to 15 and I still got a draw. Dosn't make much sense. I was playing the new version, 9.0-CD. Do you think it is a bug, or just "one in million" coincidence?

Its also calculated off of casualties inflicted, as a general thing. Destroyed or even damaged units contribute to your enemy's score, so its possible he bled you enough that flags didn't matter. After all, that shiny MBT might cost quite a lot more than a few flags!

Apologies if I have missed the intent of your post, but that is my understanding of the scoring system.

As Wiking correctly pointed out victory points are scored for destroying/damaging enemy units and capturing flags.

Flags / Objective markers can score between 1 and 250 points each and can all have different values. If you take 15 worth 100 each I could easily draw with 5 worth 250. Thats before I destroy a couple of your 600 point MBTs!

Also included is any costs asociated with having an artillery overload.

Remember too, that if you dont win by more than twice the points its still a draw!

From the GG:
The 2 sets of VP are expressed as a ratio to determine victory. The victory result is then determined as follows

decisive victory - your ratio of points is 8 times the enemy's or greater

minor victory - your ratio of points is 2 times but less than 8 times the enemy's score

draw - whenever either side scores less than 2 times against the other side.

minor loss - your opponent scored a minor victory over you

decisive defeat - your opponent scored a decisive victory over you

Please note that partially damaged units count, so if you do 23 points damage on a 100 point AFV, your score 23 for that damage.

So neither a bug nor coincidence - It's how the game has always worked...

Due to the increase in unit costs in later years at least for the main powers victory hexes play less of a roll in determining who wins.
You can of course get round this.
There is a spread sheet available at the Blitz which factors victory hexes owned into the results more.
Another simple option if you want territory owned to play a bigger part in the results is to add a nice round figure to them then adjust the score by counting the hexes owned at game end. Just decide at the start they are all worth +1000 points or whatever you think suitable.
