Hello one and all,
I have been a regular visitor to this site for many years and have been playing SPWW2 since the earliest days (1995?). Now I am a member and would like to make a contribution if I can.
I am interested in making a few custom icons and I am wondering if there is any open source software for editing the icon files?
Many thanks,
Gelainey

ShpEdit comes with the game - It allows you to export and import .bmp files (icons) into the .shp files.

To edit / create the actual icons use your favourite .bmp editor - or even Windows' Paint! The proviso is you MUST use the SPCAMO pallette or you will get wierd flashing in game as the smoke/water effects cycle.

There are a number of helpful guides here - Cross' HERE (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=47320) is very good (its what gave me the confidence to try my own edits!).

Have fun and please feel free to ask questions if you have any problems.
