How about winSPWW2? They seem to be almost identical games except for the time period...same graphics engine I mean. Thanks in advance for replies.

Yes I use it with Windows 10 (and it occasionally does not load as it should). BTW, to say I hate and detest Windows 10 would be a considerable understatement.

Actually I much prefered Vista to Windows 10, but there again I only use it on computers and don't have, or want, smart phones or tablets.

Try Windows Classic shell..

That is the start menu replacement I use on my windows 8 main box and Windows 10 laptop. (I replaced windows 7 on the laptop, never really liked 7).

Change a few parameters to suit how you like your start menu to look and you are in business. No more "mobile phone" crap on your start menu any more. You can even have that weirs one that windows 7 introduced where you type into the programs list to find things (yech!).

As for flashing "tiles" that some will download data from the internet to do their updating (and so blow through your data limit if you aren't on an "all you can eat" scheme) - stuff that for a game of soldiers, Mr Microsoft!. So no, the silly tiles and apps stuff that they foisted on us in 8 and after can get gone from any PC I own.

I want my start menu to be the traditional list of programs, and to stay where I put them with none of this most recent use or whatever that means you are on a fox-hunt to find things each and every time. I want program X to be exactly where I put it every time. I also want a "settings" menu item so I can get to the control panel and do stuff there, and a menu item for logging off simply and properly without having to wiggle my mouse in some weird bit of the screen, or sacrifice a chicken or whatever Voodoo M$ wants you to do..

Yep - the tiled junk might work on a modern smart phone, but I am a Luddite who would really far rather prefer an old-model Nokia to make those "phone call" thingies. Text? - that's something 11 year olds do on their phones, I certainly dont  <-- nearest smiley I found for a grumpy old Scots g*t :)

Yes I use that and turn off as much of the Windows 10 reporting stuff as possible.

Drove me nuts to Microsoft seem to have a habit of making it harder & harder to access stuff & personalise your computer to your liking.
Strange as PC stands for personal computer if I recolect correctly.

Windows 10 is much less private than earlier offerings. It is actually designed to gather information about you and your internet habits, to help make microsoft money, of course.

There is a lot of good advice on making windows 10 as private as possible on YouTube...

Yeah, I spent a few hours finding and turning off most of the built-in spyware after I installed Win 10.
