Safebox edition won't install?

Just got my disc, but the darn thing won't install, when you dbl-clk on the exe, the "working" icon sits and spins as long as you let it, until you get pissed off and yank the disk, which by the way, is the only way I could get it to respond?! Windows 7. Waited 3 weeks for the stupid thing, and it doesn't even install, not cool. Anyone else have a problem? Sent support a shout.

I just re-tested the same installer I passed on to Shrapnel and it works perfectly. I will pass on this report to Shrapnel

Just so we are absolutely clear......this is the winSPMBT CD you are referring to....correct?

Was there any error message of any kind that showed when you tried to run it........AND..... have you tried to run it again after a re-boot ?

Try copying the installer from the CD to your HDD and then run it. I have been told that should work if there are any problems running it directly from the CD.

I'm glad you brought the issue to my attention but this is really an issue you need to bring directly to Shrapnels customer service. They have the expertise and experience dealing with issues like this that I do not. All I know for sure is the installer I built works perfectly for Andy and I and that it was tested on 7 different machines by Shrapnel without an issue.

EDIT. I did not know this until today but Shrapnel tells me..


We do not autorun new CDs. This is out of favor as the autorun can be used to hijack a system. In fact, Windows 10 (and maybe Windows 7) will not automatically start an autorun file.

so if your machine will not run it from the CD you need to copy it from the CD to a temp folder and run the installer from you HDD

Probably the CD/DVD reader is at fault there.

Will try to copy to HDD and run, am in contact with Shrapnel as well, but have found in the past forums tend to deliver quicker results sometimes!! Thanks for all the replies, will let you all know how this pans out.

Well done on both the WW2 and MBT guys, loaded up used the fix supplied in a post above for Win 7 issues, game runs like a champ, no issues with palette or anything, looks really good!!
