Infantry-only Scenarios

Hello:

I know the game is named SP but wondering are there any included infantry-only scenarios - or scenarios just without AFVs?

To be right into combined arms in the tutorial is hard.

Try a generated company-sized meeting engagement battle on a 25x25 map. Pick two roughly equal nations. Try custom map # 359

Maybe try a couple of coys of infantry...... set the battle up so you pick the AI's troops but it deploys and plays that way you know what you are up against and can pick a similar force for yourself

Thanks for the tips. How many points approx. should I set for myself to have a company?

If you use that map I suggested try two companies......once you buy for your side the AI side will only get an equal amount so you could set both sides to XXX then only buy the 2 infantry coys......you'll see leftover points but you can ignore them....the game will as well

The number of points really depends on what nations you are buying for and what decade. There's a big difference between USA 1957 and Ethiopia 1957....1000 points should do it but you need to check which nations you want to use

I remember seeing that about the leftover points and forgot it. That is very handy.

You mentioned map 359 but I see I only have 320 maps. Do the others come on the CD-version.

Since I dont have any above that number other than a few random items - probably some as yet unissued ones.

Try one of the smaller maps like say 99. Open the editor, choose custom map, find a small one (sizes are part of the name) and select it, then choose edit map to see it. Once you have decided which to use then use that map in the battle generator.

Ah ! Sorry.....359 is only in winSPMBT not winSPWW2

Try the map generator using these numbers on a 30 x 30 map....keep pressing the blue> button until you see one you like

Thanks again for the help. Maps look really nice btw. I used to play ASL so I have the hex outlines turned on in SP.

I don't want to do your "homework" but I suggest checking any the following stock scenarios from the scenario list:

#1, 3, 4, 5, 39, 196, 199, 250, 271, 272, 273, 283, 290, 298, 302, 303, 357, 358, 360, 361, 362, 363, 381, 382, 386, 387, 388, 393, 398, 411, 412.

I'm sure there are many other infantry vs infantry only scenarios in the list.
