Thanks for a good game. I've been playing both games for quite awhile and I've noticed a problem with loading units onto vehicles. I'll drop a AO unit onto a hex containing a vehicle and it will always be placed at the lower part of the hex rather than the upper part as most units are.It will only load if I hit the bottom of the hex 2 or 3 times. Most units load with just 1 click. Also, I just started a scenario where I loaded machine guns onto a truck and I had the same issue. I had to click 3 times to get them to load because of where they were placed on the hex.
Its a small problem but it can get annoying with large scenarios. TIA for your help. (sorry this is so lengthy).

Yes have had the same problem. You bring a vehicle into a hex with a transportable unit, hit the Load button or key, then have to click at least twice to load the transportable unit. Doesn't seem to happen when moving a transportable unit into the vehicle hex. No biggie but still annoying.

I tried to recreate what both of you have written

1/ drop a AO unit onto a hex containing a vehicle and it will always be placed at the lower part of the hex rather than the upper part as most units are.It will only load if I hit the bottom of the hex 2 or 3 times

and

2/bring a vehicle into a hex with a transportable unit, hit the Load button or key, then have to click at least twice to load the transportable unit.

And I fail to see in either case what the problem is

In case 1/ this is " drop a AO unit onto a hex containing a vehicle"

IDK how you can see it "placed at the lower part of the hex"

And this is it loaded

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15932&stc=1&d=1582375445

and I clicked only once

Then this is a "vehicle ( moved.. ) into a hex with a transportable unit" and loaded

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15933&stc=1&d=1582375900

so I fail to see what the problem is so you need to create a save game that shows it and post it along with " I did A then B " instructions

Thanks for your answer. I forgot to mention that this only happens in the deploy part of the game. Otherwise it works as its supposed to.
I guess its just a problem with my system.

Not sure what the issue is but with the paid version if you have more than one unit in a hex you can select them using the buttons above the map.

I tested again in MBT ( because despite their common ancestry they are more like brothers than twins and there are differences )

I restricted the test to deploy and I used tanks, APC. utility vehicles and medium trucks as the transport and then I "dropped a AO unit onto a hex containing the vehicle" as described and in every case the A0 was shown to be like this

Not........." placed at the lower part of the hex rather than the upper part "

I have not seen it reversed. What nation are you using?

OK. Must be a unique system or user issue. Thanks for looking into it. For me it was happening while in the regular battle screen. Not so apparent now for some reason. Senioritis perhaps?

For DRG:
It works the way its supposed to as long as I put the vehicle on top of the unit to be loaded rather than the other way around. Thanks again.

In the deployment phase, there is no need whatsoever for the passenger and transport to occupy the same hex to load up. Distance is not an object, unlike when in-game.

So select either the transport or the passenger, hit "L" and point at the other unit and click to load it.

Thanks Mobhack. I didn't know that.

As Andy said there is no need for the carrier or passenger to be in the same hex to load during deployment BUT in further testing I have been able to recreate the top of hex / bottom of hex issue and I have never noticed this before ( But I never looked for it either...... )

For that test I lined up the tanks then dropped the infantry into each hex the tanks occupied. This does not affect how units load so it's not a "bug" as much as a "quirk". I tried a second test using the same tank in hex then put infantry and ALL the infantry in that test ended up in the bottom

Who ends up on top of a pile likely depends on which formation was bought first - tank or grunt. Cross-attatchment may scramble the internal database order as well.

Yes - just tried buying a rifle co and then a tank co and the tanks (bought second) are stacked a few pixels down from the infantry elements (bought first) and "on top" of the infantry element.

Loading of infantry (and A0) onto the tanks either way (select a grunt, press "L", point at tank, or vice-versa) worked wihout a problem.

Thanks DRG for letting me know you were able to duplicate the issue I described. I'm glad it wasn't a problem with my system or the installation.
