Ironically, almost the same story as karigan, retired not long ago and find myself drawn back into this gem. Just finished installing the latest CD update and I am always amazed by the work done to keep the database pretty current.

Quite a few years ago, I think there were additional mod packs that added hypothetical cold war units and there were other mods available too. Have all of these gone by the wayside and no longer supportable in game?

I'd absolutely pay big dollars to see this game upgraded to a newer engine, but still enjoy the current state as well.

Anyway, looking forward to adding some of the near term Stryker (SHORAD variant) NGCV and possible Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters to my arsenal.

Thanks for all you continue to do for this game developers, modders and supporters. Lost my original CD of this and WWII version. Bought them both again because I wanted to support as best as I can.

Have a look in the mods forum, in WW2 forum as well - you may find something in there. Also the OOB forums.

However if they haven't been updated by thier authors lately then they may not be compatible with the game any longer. For example, I did a Mexican version of the Green OOB IIRC a long time ago - probably incompatible now without some reworking.

Not that I recall. East Germany no longer existed when we started building the game

There was a mod floating around some years ago that was based on the idea that the Cold War never ended, and the developer had created lots of new weapon systems based on stuff that was either cancelled post-cold war or never made it past the idea stage. He modified some of the OOBs, basically Nato and Warsaw Pact, and I think he may have taken non-Nato or Pact OOBs and used them for countries that no longer existed, like East Germany or Yugoslavia. I played around with that mod for a bit, but then returned to the standard OOBs. I downloaded it from this site, so it may be buried in the Mods forum.
