I noticed something odd and wondered if it is a bug or not.

I had several AFVs hit booby traps and IEDs and get immobilized as a result. What was odd was they showed 0 damage. Normally an immobilization caused by fire scores at least 1 damage.

Just for the record, I ran a test scenario and confirmed that the opposing player does NOT score points for tripping booby traps or IEDs even though they show points for being destroyed.

I didn't know there were IEDs in the game. I can't help you with your problem, but thanks for the info.

Sometimes (rarely) immobilization is "fixed" and a unit regains it's mobility. Damage to a unit us never "fixed". So it may be that a mobility "hit" is treated separately (and differently) then one that causes damage.

Immobilisation does not always do a point of damage. Especially for MRAP vehicles (unit class or class 7 protection value).

IEDs are not units - they are defensive stores like mines, so the points spent do not go to the opponent on destruction of same. But they do appear on the unit list, since the player has to be able to communicate with the remotely operated ones (with a radio, press F to go boom). Since they appear on the unit list then they show the usual stuff for the unit list - if they did not, then someone would be moaning that his booby traps did not show unit data......

They are nasty and have a large blast radius. Much more effective than mines.

16 inch Naval Gun = Warhead Size 22, HE Pen 10, HE Kill 71
2000# Bomb = Warhead Size 96, HE Pen 120, HE Kill 192
IED = Warhead Size 96, HE Pen 3, HE Kill 192

IEDs have the same blast radius as a 2000# bomb, considerably less ability to penetrate armor, and the same lethality vs unarmored targets.

So, yes, they're deadly. More of a van sized bomb then more "typical" artillery shell/500# bomb size.

To put that in perspective I did not pull my units back before trying to disarm my first one. Disarm attempt failed it triggered & cut a platoon in half they are not mines. Avoid or try triggering with a sniper if you send a poor guy to disarm it pull everyone back, if they fail that units toast.
