Acording to this article inside Russia are still T-34/85 tanks in reagular units. Armour Necromation :D:angel. Not exactly as a main equipment but also not only as a museum vehicles. They are rather used as a training tanks which can also live fire with option to be used in deep rear in case of war especially war were atomic bombs will be used and electromagnetic pulse can destroy electronics. Of course they are mascotes of units which have them in runing conditions and moust popular tanks on military parade's.

Russian goverment also buy a whole regiment around 30 vehicles from Laos which were sold there long time ago they were welcome with much admiration by peoples along transiberian line when were transported from Vladivostok to Moscow.

Isn't the T34/85 an upgraded version of the T34 used in WWII?

Isn't the T34/85 an upgraded version of the T34 used in WWII?

Both versions were used in WW2 (the 85 from 1944 onwards).

In Poland they were in use in reserve units until 1989 and after that they go finally to museums for well-earned retirement here proof photo from 1985 in Nysa Poland They were modernised then to standard T-34/85M2 where better radio was installed and one person of the crew (radio-telegraphist) was removed so crew was only 4 not 5 like in wartime T-34/85
