Why has the visibility changed for this 88? On the previous turn it could see the hillside the tanks are on but not now? No smoke and the other one can.
Sorry it's zipped but the 213KB Jpg appears too big for forum????

Do you have a game save you could post?

Do you have a game save you could post?
Preferably two. One before and one after you noticed the change but the latest alone might help
Sometimes smoke is generated from units firing that is not enough to show on the map but a series of hexes with it can reduce visibility to a unit trying to sight through it...but a save game is ALWAYS more use than a screenshot that only shows now and not what you saw before

No save unfortunately but you answer is probably the reason. There were units in front that fired.

This game system has the best battlefield experience there is! I love the way line of sight is portrayed in this game. :)

We have had very similar questions like this in the past and it came down to visibility being blocked due to combat activity between where the unit was and the target hex had changed from earlier in the game and tipped the balance between seeing a distant target and not being able to see it.
Smoke has to reach a certain level before it appears on the map but up to the level that triggers the smoke Icon to first appear on the map there is still accumulation and enough of it can tip the LOS depending on the original game visibility. Lower visibility to start can tip it quicker than higher visibility

Yes, the LOS/FOW system in this game, after years of tweaking has just about reached perfection. In comparison LOS rules in other tactical games out there can be illogical and sloppy, well done.
