Hmm. Which one is more streamlined?
The one thing I've heard peoplewhine gripe about with C&C is that it's too light. I'm assuming those folks are coming from a 3E background, where everything has to be spelled out. Yes, with C&C the dungeonmaster (in C&C parlance, the CastleKeeper) needs to actually use, you know, imagination when running a game.
