Rules, where are they?
 

just bought Download version, didn't realize the manual doesn't come with it, unless I missed the file somewhere. It is I believe on a website that that no longer exists. The game is easy enough to play but I don't understand the Campaign features as a result of not having access to the rules. I should have been warned before buying, paid full price for it.

It's been a while since I've played. Basicly, the campaign(s) are the individual battles linked together with a story or 'situation'. Sometimes (or always?) you have an option after each battle as to what 'area' you want to go to next. You can capture ships and use them for your own, repair ships, and move crews/marines from ship to ship. You can 'sell' unwanted ships, or turn some into fireships.

I assume you did, but still I'll ask, if you've looked at both the download file directory and the directory where the game was installed for the manual ?

Yes, the manual is a file of it's own. Please look in the downloaded folder containing the installation files.
