Question: TIME command

Today I tried modifying the Melodium Chonograph into a machine that takes you back in time.

Its entry TIME 365 makes a year pass.
I thought that by simply adding a "-" (TIME -365) I could achieve the desired effect.
The only thing that happened, though, was an acceleration of game time until I hit the pause button.

For now I've added a non-working version of the time machine to my mod. When you use it, it malfunctions and melts down.

So my question is:
Is there a way to turn back time in Weird Worlds? If no: Is there hope for it in a future version?

No, this is probably not going to happen.

Re: Question: TIME command

Properly moving backwards in time would involve stuff like saving the game every "day" and going back to a save when the time machine is activated... and there just aren't such mechanisms in the game. Just turning back the clock would cause all kinds of trouble with time-based events (nova, vacuum collapser, kawangi).

Re: Question: TIME command

Have you considered alternative ways of using the time machine? Perhaps to reclaim an item that has previously been destroyed or stolen (like by esmerelda). There are plenty of times I've wished my main ship with the best upgrades hadn't been destroyed and I could go back and get something from it.

I don't know how possible that is, but it seems more possible at least than actually winding back time.

The other option could be, if possible, just to add say 2000 years to the time remaining without actually changing the galaxy.

Re: Question: TIME command

Adding extra time is a possibility. It'd be *relatively* straightforward although there's possible complications like the "timer" messages popping up multiple times. Another consideration is that a feature that isn't being used by the default game is also not going to be tested by the playtest crew, therefore it has a high chance of breaking the game in unexpected ways.

Re: Question: TIME command

This actually made it to the v1.2 upgrade. There's now a quest command ADDT that can be used to add time. It may cause the timer messages (e.g. you have two years left) to come up multiple times if you add time after getting the message, but I guess this is actually a good thing as you do want to be aware of the "new" time limit.
