Sea Kings are dead in latest

So I updated my SPMBT and just decided to load up an old CG I was playing as the USMC in 1965.

I saw this when I started the scenario.

Looking at the helo's I had for my unit they were Sea Kings but now they are something else?

So somehow things got jiggly?

Prob no hope for my CG, so I'll trash them but if you all need any files let me know.

Re: Sea Kings are dead in latest

What happened was SOMEBODY rearranged the units in the USMC OOB doing things they should know by now not to do because it makes headaches for everyone including me and that makes me cranky because it and buggers up EVERY save game, scenario and campaign that uses it

It's going to take me awhile to sort this out as I am in the middle of dealing with a RL issue that is more important than this but HOPEFULLY, I will be able to sort out the damage

EDIT

There USED TO BE 5 sea kings, now there are two so good chance you just found the tip of the iceberg

< Thinking a lot about a word that rhymes with "luck" atm>

Sea king 167 ( 7/63- 12/69 ) which existed in 2022 and earlier is now gone and has been replace with 16in Naval Guns...... wonderful

Sea king 168 ( 1/81 -3/90 ) is ALSO 16in Naval Guns...... why there are two the same...... IDK ( lets blame covid ) There is no difference in the units except for the dates and BOTH of those guns used to be in 165 and 166..... now 165 and 166 are 6" and 8" guns

Sea King 908 ( 1/70 - 12 /80 ) is an empty space now as is ..
Sea King 909 ( 1/72 - 3/90 ) which is an empty space now as well

So there will need to be a full check done for those. They didn't show up in the regular checks but it doesn't look for this type of problem but if anyone knows they have a scenario that uses USMC Sea kings between 7/63 and 3/90 then you are going to have a problem

:doh::doh::doh::mad:

This ends any further outside CW OOB work

EDIT

looks like....... maybe only one scenario.......maybe

Use SQL search

select distinct ScenNum, sTitle, Unit, Nation, uName, OOBindex, OOB from sData where OOB=13 and OOBindex =167

Thats the HH-3A Sea King* unit 167 pre 2023 in scenario 112 ( now corrected )

Don
You can save this game easy

Start it up, go to the right side menu and click on Save as Scenario

Once it's saved you can open it with ScenHack and replace the problem unit with a new one using the Change button

Then continue playing

I must be dense, I don't see any save as scenario option on the right side.

Re: Sea Kings are dead in latest

You said CG...... I took that to mean SAVE GAME....... thinking now you meant Campaign Game?

If yes, is it a scripted campaign or generated?

It does not matter which type as that trick I mentioned does not work with campaigns but if this is a scripted campaign and those helos are part of the core then I need to fix it

Re: Sea Kings are dead in latest

Okay got it now. Its a auto generated CG, and one of my saves from that CG. Its not scripted.

Sorry when I typed CG I meant Campaign Game (lazy typist here) my bad.

So it seems I can't fix it. No worries.

Don't delete it yet....... I need to test a theory

Re: Sea Kings are dead in latest

OK........ here's your fix

It's a bit of work but not too much

Go to the save game folder and rename the DAT and CMT of the save game to an empty slot in your scenario folder like this ( for example )

SpMBTScn0550.DAT
SpMBTScn0550.CMT

Then move them to the scenario folder
Open it with Scenhack and use Change to swap the bad helo with an equivalent

Save and you can continue on ( OR..... I think have not tested ) after you have confirmed you have helos again you can rename it back to being a save game and continue as a campaign....maybe

So just going through this step by step. There may be other problems per ScenHack?

https://i.imgur.com/reb8Mcz.png

So I fixed all these OOB errors per ScenHack.

I then changed the name back to the SpSv030.dat and cmt and loaded it it up.

It mostly works but it set me back to turn 1 with all the damage to both sides it seems.

So it seems I can continue on but at turn 1. I was on turn 17 but at least my SeaKings are back.

Can you check on the M48's and the other VC ones that show as broken per ScenHack?

One of the side effects of the 'conversion'

https://i.imgur.com/SHV5F1L.png

It should show damage but does not.

I do have a save at the start of this CG first mission so I may check it out and see if I need to 'convert' it and start a new.
