Edit: version 1.4.2 download link added to this post. I'll be updating that link everytime I update this mod.

Added in this update:
  • 2 more quests
  • 2 new items
  • improved graphics (especially on the amoeba-ship)
  • further miscellaneous debugging

Note to self: Version 1.4.1 had been downloaded 87 times, before I replaced it with the 1.4.2.

Re: Teeming With Life version 1.2

Teeming With Life is especially good when played on the Science Mission. In addition to new lifeforms, it provides a few new quests, new ships and other tidbits to enhance the other two missions as well.

The 1.2 Version has now been released. It is attached to the first post in this thread.

new in the 1.2 version:
+New music for the Snake God and the Galaxy's Largest Lummox Ranch. If you haven't heard both those tunes, you haven't played this mod enough! Music provided by Ace_Garp, aka Rick of Semihere. Thanks again, Rick!
+1.22 patch compliant - completely this time, and with no known bugs or glitches. It doesn't even crash my mac! Should be a livelier and less frustrating mod now.
+Alternate versions of several quests, randomly replacing main version in a percentage of games to increase replayability!
+Fixed minor glitch in Science Vessel ally. Also gave the ship a name.
+Assorted minor de-bugs in other quests.

Have fun!

Re: Teeming With Life version 1.2

Amended my Modlist thread to show your latest version.
Not had chance to play it yet.
I'll get some more music done for you soon - been very busy this last month (it's charity gigs for Oxfam season in the UK at the moment.)
Had a look at your blog, and it's quite nice!
Looking forward to a Cthulhu mythos based Mod (I use the name Cthulhu on a few forums). An Odyssey inspired one sounds great too - I definitely want to be involved in an aural way ;-)

Re: Teeming With Life version 1.3

I put up a new version (v1.3) of Teeming With Life. It's mostly debugging, not new content, but considering it's a year since my last modding, I figured any changes were worth posting.

-----------------------

Changes in this version:
+ Fixed graphics on the life tank. Also, it should only work once now (and generate two animals when it is activated), not be an endless supply of lifeforms.
+ Changed text on Calatian Colony quests, so it's not as surprising that you suddenly have a Calatian on board. (I can't remember why there's no window telling you you have one, but I seem to recall that it went away when I debugged some glitch two years ago.)
+ Hopefully fixed bug where bee sound won't stop if they eat a lummox.
+ A few other text corrections to make some things clearer.

-----------------------

Other, older stuff changed in previous versions:
+Added Goldilocks and more than 3 animals. (Phase Spiders, Candlepillars, Riding Slugs, Unicorns, Rock Lions)
+Stasis Tank - lifeform storage unit
+Breedable fuzzy lummoxes and related quests.
+The Muktian beekeepers society, and Piranha Bees in combat.
+Now we know where the Muktians get their guns from.
+Space Whales aren't just a postcard opportunity anymore.
+Megamoebas finally live up to their name.
+The Garthan Snake God. Snakebite voodoo.
+Threep school.
+Science vessel available as an ally.
+Lookout Frogs and Garthans. Lummoxes and Bees. What do these have in common? Put them together to find out.
+Alternate ways to make nice with other aliens.
+Increased points for lifeforms in some missions.
+New music for the Snake God. Music provided by Ace_Garp, aka Rick of Semihere.
+New music for the Galaxy's Largest Lummox Ranch. Thanks again, Rick!
+1.22 patch compliant
+Alternate version of Calatian quest, randomly replaces other version in some games.
+Fixed minor glitch in Science Vessel ally. Also gave the ship a name.
+Assorted minor de-bugs in other quests. Should be a livelier and less frustrating mod now.

Re: Teeming With Life version 1.4

Added/updated version 1.4 (download link on the first post). In this update: Lots of graphics improvements, a few text rewrites, refined and improved some lummox quests, and worked in some fun and unpredictable tweaks to animals from the main game.

Re: Teeming With Life version 1.4.1

Updated link on first post to version 1.4.1.

The only change from 1.4 is a bug fix involving Muktians and Unicorns. I didn't test the fix, but I found a typo that was almost certainly the cause of the problem.

Here's the new 1.4.2 version of Teeming With Life.

While most of this update is just little debugs and (mostly minor) graphics improvements, this version also adds 2 new quests, and an item or two to go with them.

Re: Teeming With Life version 1.4.2

I think we're developing some sort of telepathic link.

The new major personality in 1.4.2 is uncannily similar to an idea I had for my own mod, just earlier, based on the Thrint Whistle. Now, though, I'll have to let that idea be, since you've completed basically the same thing.

All in all, another interesting edition!

It's fine with me if we have something similar in our mods.

I can think of plenty of ways to put little twists on that basic concept. As you said, you may have it triggered by an item. Or it could give you an allied ship that's awesome, but comes with the drawback used in the quest we're talking around. A little custom art and a clever twist goes a long way...
