25 pdr price question

I noticed that the the cost of the british 25 pdr is about half of the US 105mm howitzer. For example a US field gun battery and a british howitzer battery both cost roughly the same but the US battery comes with 4 105mm while the British battery have 8 25 pdr.

I am wondering if this is intended or is it a bug due to I having patched the game from 1.0 to 4.5 after starting a long british campaign.

Are we talking about on-board of off-board assets?

On a quick glance at the encyclopedia, off-board troop of 25 pounders (4 guns) costs 171 points, while off-board battery of 105 mm howitzers costs 191 points.

oh, that would explain the price difference. I was comparing onboard 25 pdr battery to offboard 105mm battery.
I assume being off board mean you're immune to being rushed by the enemy? does it protect you from counter barrage and will off board battery replace used ammo?

Off-board artillery can only be hurt by counter-battery fire from enemy off-board artillery.

Off-board artillery units are not able to replenish ammunition during a battle. However, they usually come with noticeably more ammo to begin with than on-board versions. Also, sometimes off-board artillery units have variants with double ammo loads (for increased price), these are usually signified with a "+" at the end of the name.

Off-board artillery units might have slightly slower response times to fire calls than equivalent on-board units.
