Blank Map Bug?
 

Hey everyone,

I'm pretty new to Dom 3 and really loving it (blows AoW: Shadow Magic away).

However I keep running into a pretty severe game ending bug, at least I think its a bug (I'm running version 3.06).

What happens is that sometimes, when I am looking at the equipment/stats screen for my Prophet or God and I go to close it... the game will freak out and everything will go blank except the background map.

No Province boundary lines, no right side of the screen menu, no text... just the map. But the music will still play and when I hit Esc the game will change backgrounds to the starting game picture but still no text or anything.

Sometimes this happens early in a game, sometimes it takes forever to happen... and a few times I've had it not happen at all and I could finish the game.

The only solution I know is to Ctrl-alt-delete and close the program, but then I lose all my work on that game.

So has anyone run into this problem before? Is it just a matter of a hotkey I'm hitting that is hiding ALL text? Any information on this subject would be most appreciated.

It is the "bad" cd-key check. Try to delete the "key" file in the dominions3 folder, restart the game and type in your cd-key again.

Thanks Dedas, I did what you suggested and now its not happening anymore. Looks like that fixed the problem.
