Vine Shield Mechanics?
 

Curious if anyone knows exactly how the Vine Shield works? Is it a Str check before or after attacking, does it only trigger on a hit, does MR have anything to do with it, etc?

Based on how nets work, I think the Str check is *instead* of attacking, unless you're quickened of course (because then you get two actions).

It seems to generate vines even if Awe deters the actual attack. However, I'm not sure exactly what causes the vines to appear since it doesn't happen on everybody.
