Gladiator dies bug.......

Just started to play this game and I have installed the latest patch. But when one of my fighters dies, the game just hangs when writing todays newslines. Anything I can do??

If its the 1.5 patch, it seemed to create weird crashing problems at odd points on some systems due to DLL difficulties. The latest test patches I tried out privately seemed to have solved all of those problems, as many who have tried them have been able to play 10 seasons or more perfectly.
