Settings.txt /pop modifiers Knowledge Base Thread

1 Attachment(s)
In the Data/Settings.txt (bottom of file) under Population Modifiers are some mysterious (to me) numbers. Any info on how these numbers work would be most appreciated. I have a sneaky suspicion this particular file could be "enhanced" for more gaming pleasure.
I have included a "Population Modifers" only file for easy viewing. The Pop Amount jump from 9999 to 2000000 seems out of whack with the modifier pcts. I am assuming (hate that word) that 200 is the max. Thanks for any response

Its actually pretty simple.

Pop Modifier 1 Population Amount := 19

This is the population amount it takes to get this bonus. SEV uses the highest amount. So if you have 3 modifiers at 10, 20, and 30, and your population is 25, it'll use the 20 modifier.

Pop Modifier 1 Production Modifier Percent := 100

This is the amount production (all resources including research and intelligence) changes. Just multiply this by the amount produced.

Pop Modifier 1 SY Rate Modifier Percent := 100

Same thing as production, except for construction.

The big jump at the end is because MM didn't bother to add any in between. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif I have no idea what the max values are, but I doubt its 200.

Thanks for the info Phoenix-D. "Armed" with this knowledge I am offering an adjusted "Settings.txt file. The modifications to the Population Modifier section begin at line 101. Wondering if a more detailed breakdown would be even better, & by how much? Thoughts?
