Daily Codes

"Daily Codes" is a system that allows you to enter special codes to receive various in-game rewards.

*Most codes will be found here.
*Codes must be entered *after* you have started or resumed your game, from the in-game options menu.
*Codes only work for one specific day.
*You can only use one code per day.
*You are not guaranteed to receive any codes on any day.
*You are not required to use them.
*Different codes may be valid at different times in different time zones.
*Codes are case sensitive and have some non-alpha-numeric characters. Deal With It! (is that o,O,0 ? Display it in a 'system' font if you can't tell!)

Here are 5 codes to kick off your first week (work-week) with the full game:
` Dec. 15th : rmY7smfu : credits code
` Dec. 16th : KZ7Z8SJi : rescue code
` Dec. 17th : M^ZDRBsA : greed inducer
` Dec. 18th : b!3F9r!A : excellent weapon
` Dec. 19th : eZBjgWRS : good shield

A 'credits' code with give you 1000 credits multiplied by whatever sector you are in.
A 'rescue' code will restore your hull & shields in space, or your HP & oxygen on away missions.
The rest will grant either devices or components.

PLEASE NOTE:
If there are any delays in manufacturing, shipping, etc. ,
I will happily re-generate these codes for any and all users.
This is meant to be a fun bonus feature, and not a source of grief or tension (there are plenty of those already!).

Welcome series!
SonicX, glad they're coming in handy...also glad they are working.
I will attempt to generate some more for the weekend.

Re: Daily Codes

More daily codes.
Remember, one per calendar day, used only once, entered in-game, during play.

dec 20 : UZ6YVCDB : credits code (1000 * sector)
dec 21 : JmTDF*G6 : Artifact Catalogue
dec 22 : X!SZoiX@ : rescue code (enter when close to death!)
dec 23 : E^qj^u6^ : super space-suit
dec 24 : *m5*e*^L : auto-repair (repairs ship hull!)
dec 25 : OmgwMH2Q : a very in-joke kind of device
(and in the code is 'OMG' and almost 'H2O' ... wow!)

Enjoy

Re: Daily Codes

Oh well, I'm using the codes just for fun (my current playthrough has me flying across the galaxy in a fully-equipped trader ship with my officers having all the crafting-enhancing skills and me having a ton of spare materials—ran across one of those wrecks filled with that—so the weapon I got was pretty much half as strong as what I already had), but I was wondering, is it possible for the codes to use alt-code characters?

I mean, I do presume the codes are randomly (or semi-randomly) generated, but it got me curious.

Re: Daily Codes

Alt-code char:
oh, no. I wouldn't know how to makes those with my keyboard. It's fairly standard alpha-numeric with a bit of !@#$^& thrown in cuz I like it.

The codes are randomly generated, but there is a scheme to them, and it's fairly deep. I ran a decoding simulation of several hundred thousand (>250,000) random codes, and not a single one of them made it thru all the checks.

It was an experiment I wanted to try, and it seems to have worked ;)

Re: Daily Codes

Yeah, that it has.

A bit of a shame that we won't get any codes with “♪” or other similarly amusing symbols, but oh well, at least you won't get people complaining they don't know how to input that.

And while I'm at it, you can enter those by pressing left alt (the right alt doesn't work for that), then entering the number for the symbol you want using the numeric keyboard (with Num Lock on, of course), and then de-pressing alt. The musical note (“♪”) is alt+13, for example. But I'm digressing.
