Sgt. Rock in the year 3000...

The upcoming Sgt. Rock movie will not be set in WWII.

So why does Hollywood continually do this, screwing up established characters/franchises all the while patting themselves on their backs thinking they're doing a good thing? If you want to see a Sgt. Rock movie you want to see a Sgt. Rock movie, not some fictional future war with a character named Sgt. Rock.
