Some questions

I'm interested in the game, but have some questions:

1- Will my marines shoot at the enemy when in range??

2- Possible to have boardings??

3- Possible to fight in the dutch assault on the Thames in the XVII century??

That's all.

Re: Some questions

Download the demo, and you'll see just how the game actually is.

There are boardings, abstracted. You assign some/all of your marines and/or sailors. When you have an enemy grappled, you can choose to board. You receive a text box displaying the results of the boarding/attempt. The only 'firing' is ship's cannon.

Stratos:

Strider has you pointed in the right direction, but I just thought I would make sure each of your questions is answered.

1) Small arms fire is not factored separately in Salvo combat, so your Marines will not fire directly fire on enemy ships. Within the game abstraction of Salvo, Marines are mainly a constantly ready boarding party.

2) Yes. Boarding actions are possible any time two ships are grappled or fouled, and are crucial to many of the scenarios.

3) Which one was that? There are some conflicts between the Dutch and English, but I’m not sure that one is in the existing scenarios. However, I’m putting together a specification for a scenario builder, so soon you will be able to make the battle yourself.
