Team Yankee Scenaios/Campaign?

There was a set of scenarios modeled after Team Yankee back in the days of SPII. Does anyone know if they were ever ported over to SPMBT, some of there were pretty good.

I remember those, I also remember discovering them right after I read the book. I found them on The Wargamer using the Internet Archive website, but you can't download anything. The scenarios were very fun. If they were not ported to MBT, maybe someone has some copies of them, and I'll be happy to take a stab at converting to MBT.

That is the wargamer site with the scenarios. Unfortunately the downloads do not work anymore. :(

A little off topic but I found a working download link for the bulge 1999 Campaign for Steel Panthers 2 via the internet archive.

It also includes some new scenarios!

You need to have your SP2 updated to version 1.1 for it to work though.

After updating the game make sure to delete your Steel.prf file from the games \SAVE folder or you will get crashes.

Lately I have been playing around with my SP2 game. I noticed that the terrain graphic files from SPMBT can be used with SP2 by simply copying them to the \SHP dir. It gives the old game a whole new look.

Here they are. These are the original. I did not design, build, or modify them in any way. All thanks go to the original author.

I've been meaning to do something similar with "The Ten Thousand," but have been a bit too lazy to carry it out.

I have downloaded the zip file with all of the scenarios. Now, how do I add the scenarios to WinSPMBT 6.0?

Since they are AFAIK SP2 scenarios, they are of course entirely useless for WinSPMBT as they stand. You would first need someone to rewrite these for our game.

I actually have one I produced years ago (along with the other dozens of scenarios I created and never submitted). I would have to clean it up and add a description but it is the opening battle on the hillside.

Hopefully this works. It's been a while since I did anything with SPMBT. I created this scenario a few years ago and basically it is what it is. I hope you enjoy it, but if not at least you got to look at it.

I have it stored in slot 940 but the original map for the scenario was in Map slot 407. I copied the map into map slot 940 as well and included the map in Map slot 407. I can't remember whether the map is essential for the scenario and if it has to be in a certain slot? Like I said it's been a while since I did anything with this game...

Team Yankee 1st Btl 08/1989 Battle Notes

Date: August 3rd, 1989, 07:30 Hours
Battle Location: Village near the Inter-German Frontier
Battle Type: Soviet mobile assault versus American defend
Design by: Al Sandrik

Battle Date: 27 July 2016

Scenario Description

At 07:30 hours Soviet Forces engaged American forces near the Inter-German frontier.
Sources: Harold Coyle, Team Yankee, ISBN 0-89141-290-5, Chapter 3

“At my signal unleash hell.”
Maximus (Gladiator, 2000 film, DreamWorks Pictures)

Notes:
This is a small scenario of 15 turns that I found enjoyable and easy to play. The balance of forces favor the US side as the attacker, the Soviets do not have sufficient forces to punch a hole in the US line. Typically, I would expect a 3:1 ratio in an assault operation to the attacking side, in this case the Soviets. Additionally, the battle type is listed as a Soviet mobile assault; however it is a Soviet mechanized assault of BMP’s and T-72’s.

The US side is deployed on the left side of the map in fighting positions. A few Abrams and M150’s have LOS on the Soviet mechanized advance. The Cavalry scout vehicles are poorly positioned, so I moved them to increase fires on the bridges in the village. Fortunately, a section of Cobras with sixteen missiles are available.

The Cobras will seriously put a dent in the Soviet side, with Abrahams and SP ATM fires adding to the punch. Game over by the time the FASCAM are unleashed.

The US side loses 451 points due to Artillery overload, I believe as a result of the release of this scenario the game did not have artillery overload points awards. This should be corrected if the scenario is to be released again.
