Arv?

Hi,

Why dont we have Armored Recovery Vehicles (ARV) in WinSPMBT?

We have a truck, but it is very slow and vulnerable to everything... it die before reaching something almost all of the time.

It could be a great addition to the game without fullfill the TO&Es.

Thank you,

Try here: Repair vehicle and units (not sure how to post the link, sorry)
The discussion centers on the fact that vehicle recovery is generally not done in action, so it would be outside the scope of battles.

I'm not agree...

Tank transports and ARVs are two different things.

''An armoured recovery vehicle (ARV) is a type of armoured fighting vehicle used to repair battle- or mine-damaged as well as broken-down armoured vehicles during combat, or to tow them out of the danger zone for more extensive repairs. To this end the term "Armoured Repair and Recovery Vehicle" (ARRV) is also used.''

An ARV could be very usefull in the scope of the battles for damaged or stucked vehicles.

How often I have to leave a vehicle stuck in snow or mud behind without doing anything to get it back

In addition, they are often associated with enginer and ammo carrier units.

I think some of them could be usefull...

Thank you,

The simple fact remains that armies DO NOT send specialized, valuable and usually rare recovery vehicles into the middle of an active battle and that's what this game represents. They ARE NOT sent into areas where enemy anti tank units could pick them off and that is why they are not , and will not be, represented in the game.

Don

But often, the front move foward and damaged vehicles left behind can be recovered safely.

The problem with the truck, that's vulnerable to artillery. it have no protection...

I'm not planning to go to the front with ARVs, but use it minimally, which is not currently the case with the truck...

The alternative is to get the crews out of vehicles...

Thank,
