Ts4EVER scenarios

1 Attachment(s)
Hi!
I will post scenarios I made in here. First are three US vs Germany scenarios taken from my 29th Infantry campaign, but more will follow.
They go in slots 450, 451, 452.

Quote:

June 10, 1944
Gefosse-Fontenay

By: Ts4EVER

While the rest of the 29th Infantry division is moving into the Aure valley, the 116th is still in need of reinforcement and reorganisation after the heavy losses taken on Omaha beach.
To this end, you will be placed in division-reserve soon, but not before doing some more dirty work.
You are to mop up the area between Grandcamp and Isigny.
A company of Rangers and three Sherman tanks are attached to your force for this mission.

Objectives:
Attack and destroy the indicated strongpoints.
Be wary of local counter attacks.
Try to catch the Germans out of position, should they try to launch one!

Enemy: Intelligence indicates that enemy forces consisting of about an infantry company of the 352nd Infanterie-Division are preparing to launch a counter attack from Fossenay.
This attack could cut the lines of supply and cause confusion and disorganisation.
Furthermore, elements of the 716th Infanterie-Division are still in the area.
These constist of Russian POWs hastily pressed into service, so don't expect much of a fight from them.

Your bataillon is still in bad shape. Try to minimize casualties.

Saint-Andre-de-l'Epine

By: Ts4EVER

The next objective of the 29th Infantry Division is the city of St. Lo.
Command wants to avoid bloody street fighting, so our orders are to seize the heighground east of the city first.
This will hopefully cause the Germans to evacuate the city.

Objectives: Advance along the highway south (EAST on the map) and seize Saint-Andre.
Then swing your forces east (SOUTH) and advance towards Martinville.
The closer you can get, the better.

Enemy: The 352nd Infanterie is still holding the line in front of you.
By now their numbers have dwindled due to constant combat.
However, we have a second enemy: The terrain.
For ages the French peasants in this area planted hedgerows to defend their property.
These are now formidable enough to block the movement of armor and severely delay infantry.
The Germans have turned each field into a deadly killzone, covered by a crossfire of automatic weapons.

A company of tanks and engineers has been attached to your bataillon.
To clear out the Germans, close cooperation with these units is necessary.
Be methodical: Pin down German defenders with MG and mortar fire, then use the engineers to blow holes into the hedges.
Then assault the enemy forces with your tanks and infantry.
Advance to the next field and repeat.*

Note: Since hedges can't be blown up in WinSPWW2, the best breach points are marked by at-barriers.

November 18, 1944
Setterich

By: Ts4EVER

Gentlemen of the 29th Infantry, welcome to Germany!
I doubt that this place will show up in many tourist brochures though.
Maybe it's the wet November weather, but I suspect that even in summer these endless fields and small, strung out villages would not be much more spectacular.
The only thing that distracts the eye is a huge mound of earth and gravel that the Germans dragged out of a nearby coal mine.
We had over a month to recover from the fighting at Brest, but now we are caught in the middle of Operation Queen, the assault to reach the Roer river.
The village of Setterich is the first in a long row of obstacles standing between us and the city of Juelich, which dominates the Roer crossing.
Sadly, it has proven a tough nut to crack.

On the 16th of November the 115th and 175th regiments failed to make much headway against their objectives.
The 115th suffered heavy casualties and the 175th were forced to spend the day pinned down in a ditch.
Yesterday our 1st Bataillon was also repulsed after trying to attack the village from the south.
Their attack was stopped by a machine gun position on top of a windmill on our flank.

Now it's on us: We have passed into the 2nd Armored division zone and will attack Setterich from Loverich in the north.
2nd Armored is already in Puffendorf in the north east, but they are under heavy counter attack by the 9th Panzer and want us to clear the road leading there, which is blocked by an anti-tank ditch.
While we make our effort, 1st Bataillon will renew their attack in the south.

Objectives:
Capture Setterich and the at ditch in the north.

Enemy: The 246th Volksgrenadier Division is holding Setterich.
According to intelligence reports they are an understrength infantry division with a higher number of automatic small arms.

You will receive ample artillery and air support, as well as a platoon of tanks from 2nd Armored.

Hi,
I finally had some free time to get some scenario designing done, so I made a little pack with 5 scenarios. They are all smaller than the 29th infantry one and better suited for a fast round during lunch or PBEM.

Quote:

Frontbereinigung

Germany
vs.
Russia

Date: 21st April, 1944
Location: somewhere on the Eastern Front

Designed By: Ts4EVER

The Russians have broken through our front line and are starting to move up exploitation forces.
They already have set up some light anti tank guns and heavy machine guns to hold the ground they have won.
Take command of our mobile reserve, consisting of a Panzergrenadier Company and 4 assault guns, restore the front line and hold it against any Russian attack.

Fictional scenario, best played with the Germans commanded by the Human player.
Quote:

Pursuit

Germany
vs.
United States

Date: 28th August, 1944
Location: Near the Seine River

Designed By: Ts4EVER

Seventh Army is in full retreat, with the American Third Army under General Patton in hot pursuit. A depleted German Infanterie Kompanie supported by three anti-tank guns and two mortars has set up a roadblock at a good defensive position. Delay the American spearheads!
We will need the anti tanks guns at later delaying positions, so make sure they survive the battle.

Fictional scenario, best played with the Germans commanded by the Human player.
Quote:

Halbe
Pocket

Germany
vs.
Russia

Date: 27th April, 1945
Location: Halbe, near Berlin

Designed By: Ts4EVER

During the last death throws of the Third Reich a mixed Kampfgruppe tries to break out of the Soviet ring around Berlin. Tired Veterans, fanatical SS troopers and confused child soldiers try to force their way through the village of Halbe, but Soviet road blocks, tanks and artillery impose delay after delay.

Strike fast and keep moving, you do not have the man power for a drawn out battle.

Historical scenario, best played with the Germans commanded by the Human player.
Quote:

Sicilian
Perimeter

Germany
vs.
United States

Date: 22nd July, 1943
Location: Near the beachhead at Gela
Best played PBEM

Designed By: Ts4EVER

American Paratroopers prepare a hasty defense to hold out until the arrival of units from the beaches. Meanwhile elements of the Hermann Goering division close in.

Fictional scenario, best played PBEM.
Quote:

The Bend

Germany
vs.
United States

Date: 15th January, 1945
Location: Hatten, France

Designed By: Ts4EVER

The Germans have launched Operation Nordwind, their last mayor offensive on the Western Front. Units of the 21st Panzer Division have managed to take the eastern part of the French village Hatten before they were stopped by the American 14th Armoured Division. As the fight continues to rage around "the bend", a curve in the village mainroad overlooked by anti-tank weapons, both sides are feeding more men into the battle.

Historical Scenario, can be played against the AI as both sides or as PBEM.

Re: Ts4EVER scenarios

Thanks Ts4EVER. Btw started your 29th Infantry Campaign again, scoring a marginal win (about 1450 to 350) at Omaha Beach while losing "only" 4 or 5 core squads. Kept the trucks, AT guns, AO and FO at sea; there was a landing craft available to call artillery so didn't need to risk the FO.

Landed at Red Beach as before, being careful to spread out the mortars and MG's. After taking the top objective split the forces with one-third going
around the woods to get on the road to the 200-point village objectives while the rest went down and slightly inland to approach beachfront VH's from the flank or rear (the first Panzerturm I ran into was an unpleasant surprise). The Q1 jeep came ashore some turns later which eventually took the last town objective (lower right of the map) since the infantry were slowed by cratered roads. Both tanks made it ashore but only one saw action before getting immobilized in an artillery (rocket?) strike.

Unfortunately I've run into a problem (posted in the "error trying to load saved campaign game" thread) that prevents me from going past the Campaign Summary to the next mission. Don has come up with another fix that I'll try out presently. Sure hope it works 'cuz my blood is up for the next battle! Cheers and thanks again for a great campaign.

Yeah apparently there were some problems with the campaign, hope it is sorted out. While the opening scenario is quite fun, landing on that beach twice can really bring down player morale ;)

Been playing these scenarios the last week or so. All but #2 Pursuit. Lotsa fun, even if my results were less than stellar. Couldn't finish Halbe Pocket, even after reloading--guess I need more practice in crisis management...

Btw those JPz IV/48 F/1's in Frontbereinigung couldn't do anything against buttoned, motionless SU-76M's within 450 meters. Must've squeezed off a dozen shots without a hit. Meanwhile, one got it "right in the chops" from an opfiring Su-76, while the others fell victim to long-range shots from 76.2mm AT guns in the eastern trenches. Next time I'll just keep tank destroyers out of sight to save the points!:re:

Anyway thanks for the scenarios and happy gaming.

Hi!
5 new scenarios.

Quote:

Tiger Trap

Germany
vs.
Russia

Date: 12th Frebruary, 1944
Location: Near Cherkassy, Russia

Designed By: Ts4EVER*

During a hasty overnight retreat a Tiger tank threw a track while crossing a river.
Now Russian recon forces are closing in, hoping to locate and destroy the immobilized monster.
The Germans are scrambling to save and retrieve their tank.

The Tiger tank is worth 1000 victory points. It is immobilized, has used up most of its ammo and its crew has low morale after the botched retreat.

Fictional Scenario, can be played against the AI as both sides or as PBEM.
Quote:

Sidon

Australia
vs.
France

Date: 15th June, 1941
Location: Sidon, Lebanon

Designed By: Ts4EVER

The Australian 21st Infantry Brigade prepares to cut off the Lebanese harbor of Sidon by occupying the rural area at its outskirts.
Unknown to them the Vichy French are bringing up several tanks to counter attack.

Historical Scenario, best played with Australia as the Human player.
Quote:

Operation Greif

Germany
vs.
USA

Date: 21st December, 1944
Location: Malmedy, Belgium

Designed By: Ts4EVER

Operation Greif (Griffon) was a desperate scheme to seize the Meuse River bridges by infiltrating through the American lines.
To this end Panzerbrigade 150 was created.
Equipped with captured American vehicles and Panther tanks modified to look like M10 tank destroyers, they were to mimic an American armored unit.

While the operation did cause some confusion, the Panzer Brigade became stuck in traffic before the element of surprise was lost.
They were instead thrown into the lines on a regular combat mission: Seizing the road center of Malmedy and the bridges across the Wanche river.

You have two companies of elite Fallschirmjäger and SS infantry as well as a platoon of "M10" tanks.
At least two American infantry companies and a tank destroyer unit are holding the objective area.
Make sure to achieve your objectives before dawn breaks and the Americans can bring their artillery to bear on your advancing troops.

Historical Scenario, best played with Germany as the Human player.
Quote:

Arad

Romania
vs.
Hungary

Date: 17th September, 1944
Location: Arad County, Romania

Designed By: Ts4EVER

The fortune of the axis power had been waning for a while when Romania switched sides in August 1944.
One month later they found themselves under assault from the east, with the Hungarian 1st Armored division advancing on a bataillon of Romanian cadets.

Hold the line against the Hungarian tanks until your new Soviet allies can bring up reinforcements.

Historical Scenario, best played with Romania as the Human player.
Quote:

Tough old gut

New Zealand
vs.
Germany

Date: 23rd September, 1943
Location: Somewhere in Italy

Designed By: Ts4EVER

Italy was called the "soft underbelly of Europe" by Churchill.
The international Allied armies fighting over the mountainous terrain against determined German resistance soon realized that it was a tough old gut instead.

The NZ forces have to clear a ridge occupied by German paratroopers.

Fictional Scenario, can be played from both sides.

Third pack. These scenarios are all relatively small and fast.

Quote:

The Factory

Great Britain*
vs.
Germany

Date: 16th February, 1944
Location: Anzio Beachhead

Designed By: Ts4EVER

Operation Fischfang was the final German attempt to push the Allied forces into the sea at Anzio.
Before they can make their main assault, they need to secure the "factory", a modern farm complex created as
a model by the fascists.

The ruined buildings are defended by British Infantry. A platoon of Sherman tanks is in reserve. German forces consist of infantry with tank and engineer support.

Historical Scenario, can be played from both sides.
Quote:

Snowed in

Russia
vs.
Germany

Date: 9th January, 1942
Location: North of Rhzev

Designed By: Ts4EVER

The Wehrmacht has been ground to a halt by the unforgiving Russian winter, as well as timely reinforcements from Siberia. Immobilised by the snow, they have to rely on what few roads they have to maintain internal lines of communication.

A small Russian ski force supported by a single light tank is braving the snow drifts in order to cut one of these vital life lines.

Fictional Scenario, the Human player should take the Russian side.
Quote:

Enjoy the war

Germany
vs.
Russia

Date: 12th of March, 1945
Location: Eastern Germany

Designed By: Ts4EVER

With the German military desintegrating more and more, the hope for a "final victory" is fading fast.
On the eastern front only the fear of Russian atrocities is keeping the soldiers fighting.

"Enjoy the war, for peace will be terrible."

A Volksgrenadier Company is defending a village and a stretch of autobahn against advancing Soviet mechanised units.

Fictional Scenario, best played with Germany as the Human player.
Quote:

Floodlands

Canada
vs.
Germany

Date: 9th of February, 1945
Location: North of Cleves

Designed By: Ts4EVER

In order to protect the northern flank of "Operation Veritable", Canadian units are to assault German position in the Rhine River valley. The Germans have flooded these planes in a desperate attempt to stall the Allied advance.

Use your amphibious transport to attack the three objectives and clear them of German forces.

Historical Scenario, best played with Canada as the Human player.
Quote:

Lubkovo Chapel

Spain
vs.
Russia

Date: 27th of December, 1941
Location: Lubkovo

Designed By: Ts4EVER

Russian infantry recently took the "old chapel", an important terrain feature near the village of Lubkovo. Supported by German artillery, troops of the Spanish "Blue" Division try to get back the half destroyed church.

Historical Scenario, can be played from either side.

Well maybe that's 'cuz they're so doggoned challenging. Like, who wants to lose? But your creations are sober reminders that war is hell, and victory comes at a price.

FYI never got a win in any of your campaigns, although had one or two in separate battles. Personally I prefer mission-oriented stuff with high-point VH's, instead of casualty minimization, but beggars can't be choosers. Let's just say your efforts are by no means unappreciated, and I'm sure there are others who agree.

Look forward to playing some of your latest after the next serendipitous (and totally unexpected) patch. Thank you for your contributions to this wonderful game and keep on truckin'. Cheers!

Hi,
over the holidays I decided to make a new (now fourth) scenario pack. This time it is a bit different, because I took some inspiration from the Market Garden series of scenarios already in the game. Basically these battles are the first five of a series of scenarios I am planning about the crossing of the Rhine and the battles following it.
Think of it as a campaign, but without a core force (although some forces will be present in more than one scenario).
I felt people would be interested in some really late war European scenarios. All of them are designed for the Allied side, but there may be German scenarios as well in the future. There are five scenarios, including a "prelude battle" about the drive to the Rhine river. Note that even though it was earlier, the crossing at Remagen will be released later. These first scenarios concentrate on Operation Plunder and Varsity.

The following scenarios are in there:

Quote:

To the Rhine

USA
vs.
Germany

Date: 12th of February, 1945
Location: A few kilometres west of the Rhine

Part of the "Rhineland" series of scenarios

Designed By: Ts4EVER

In the days following Operation Grenade, the American and British armies are closing in on the Rhine river. The mighty stream is not only one of the last
natural defences of Germany; it also holds strong symbolic importance for the German psyche. While the end of the war is in sight, the desperate defenders of the Reich will not make this last act an easy affair.

While most of the German units are in headlong retreat towards the river, advancing allied forces have to deal with ambushes and delaying actions with annoying regularity. An American recon team has been attacked by Panzerfausts, indicating a defensive position in the village ahead.

A tank company is dispatched in order to deal with the roadblock. They are supported by some Calliope rockets mounted on Shermans and have two heavily armored "jumbo" tanks to lead their column and draw enemy fire. Sadly, the heavy combat on the Roer river has depleted the ranks of their infantry, so be careful not to lose too many of them!
A provisional platoon of African-American troops is on its way to reinforce the depleted troop.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Americans.

Note that your infantry is mounted on the tanks at the beginning of the scenario, so be careful where you drive!
Quote:

Rhine Crossing at
Wesel

Great Britain
vs.
Germany

Date: 23rd of March, 1945
Location: Rhine River at Wesel

Part of the "Rhineland" series of scenarios

Designed By: Ts4EVER

Even though Patton's Third Army had already taken a Rhine bridge at Remagen in a surprise attack, Montgomery's own Rhine crossing, codenamed "Operation Plunder", still went ahead.
True to his signature style, it was a huge setpiece battle, involving meticulous preparations and various specialist units. One of the crossing points was near the town of Wesel.

Close to midnight on the 23rd, 46 Royal Marine Commando is tasked with crossing the river in their amphibious vehicles and seizing the Grave Insel, a peninsula formed by an old arm of the Rhine.
It is guarded by various antiaircraft guns, a strongpoint near the waterman's house and units from the 8th Fallschirmjaeger Division.

Once the island is in British hands, the Commandos will move out towards Wesel itself, which at this time will be subjected to a heavy bombing raid. Note that the approaches to the town are most likely mined.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the British.
Quote:

Wesel Inferno

Great Britain
vs.
Germany

Date: 24th of March, 1945
Location: Rhine River at Wesel

Part of the "Rhineland" series of scenarios*

Designed By: Ts4EVER

After securing their landing site and welcoming follow on forces from the 1st Commando Brigade, the Royal Marines start their advance on the town of Wesel.
Their way is guided by the huge firestorm caused by the heavy bomber raid in preparation for the infantry assault. While it seems impossible, some of the defenders have survived the bombing and are readying their weapons to fight.

46 Royal Marine Commando is supposed to capture Wesel (or what is left of it) once the last bombers have dropped their loads. They are supported by some of the remaining Buffaloes, but are generally understrength due to the earlier fighting on the Grave Island.
Reinforcements from 1st Commando Brigade are on their way to support them.

After the city is cleared, they are to move north in order to link up with the American 17th Airborne Division, which will be dropped late in the morning as part of Operation Varsity.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the British.
Quote:

Dierfordt

USA
vs.
Germany

Date: 24th of March, 1945
Location: Drop Zone W, North of Wesel

Part of the "Rhineland" series of scenarios*

Designed By: Ts4EVER*

The Allies have learned from their costly mistakes during Operation Market Garden: For Operation Varsity, the paratroopers and glider infantry will land directly ahead of the main assault, thus being able to link up with them immediately.
The US 17th Airborne Division will land directly north of the ruined city of Wesel and secure the Diersfordt Forest. After that, they will link up with the Royal Marines advancing from the south.

The paratroopers will jump during daylight hours into their drop zone. The first step will be destroying any Germans contesting the landing and securing a safe perimeter around the zone.
It is especially important to destroy any German gun or infantry positions in the forest to the west. Once this is achieved, they will advance into the forest and take Diersfordt, as well as its historic castle.

German forces are believed to be weak, but could have support from some tanks or assault guns. To combat this, the 17th Airborne has received some of the new 57mm recoilless rifles.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Americans.
Quote:

Horsas at Hamminkeln

Great Britain
vs.
Germany

Date: 24th of March, 1945
Location: Landing Zone O, West of Hamminkeln

Part of the "Rhineland" series of scenarios

Designed By: Ts4EVER

The Allies have learned from their costly mistakes during Operation Market Garden: For Operation Varsity, the paratroopers and glider infantry will land directly ahead of the main assault, thus being able to link up with them immediately.
The 6th Airborne Division will land directly north of Wesel, in order to seize crossings over the river Ijssel as well as the town of Hamminkeln.

The coup de main force will land in gliders in Landing Zone O, directly west of Hamminkeln. Once the landing zone is secured, the first priority is the seizure of two bridges over the Ijssel.
Reinforcements will arrive from Landing Zone R in the south, including airborne tanks, in order to capture the town itself.

German forces are a mix of paratroopers and remnants of the 87th Division. They might have some tanks in support. There are also several Volkssturm units of questionable strength in the area.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the British.

I read an AAR at the National Archives II by ETO units on the effects of the new RCLs in combat against the Germans; and basically, a house full of Germans surrendered to some troops using the RCL (can't remember at the moment if it was a 57 or 75) because they thought that a tank was shelling their position; and when they found out that it was just a man portable launcher, they got really, really, upset. :D

Re: Ts4EVER scenarios

Just finished up this fun set of scenarios. I found some minor problems in the last 2.

In the Dierfordt scenario several of the C-47s are set to drop off map in the top left corner of the map. I redirected these to land near the castle on turn 8

In the Horsa scenario I moved the entire drop to the fields north west of the town. The gliders were slaughtered in their initial landing zones making for a very short scenario.

Ts4EVER January 11th, 2016 10:48 AM

Re: Ts4EVER scenarios

Thanks, I will look into it! That being said, I did playtest the horsa scenario with the standard landing spots and managed to win. I might make the German forces in the vicinity of the historical landing zone a bit weaker though, since it might be that it is too dependent on luck in the initial landing.

Hi,
I made a fifth scenario pack, the continuation of the "Rhineland" series. I guess technically it is half a prequel because it technically jumps back in time, but let's not split hairs ;) So basically, it's more late war action, this time featuring Kingtigers, Pershings, Jagdtigers etc... all the good stuff.
I may make a third installment covering the end of the war, maybe including Comet tanks, Kriegsmarine infantry, infra red tanks... we will see.

Enjoy and please test it. We have almost a year before a new patch comes out, so there is lots of time to test and perfect. Last time testing led to a quite serious bug being fixed, for instance.

Quote:

Remagen

USA
vs.
Germany

Date: 7th of March, 1945
Location: Rhine bridge at Remagen

Part of the "Rhineland" series of scenarios

Designed By: Ts4EVER

Two weeks before the launch of Operation Plunder and Varsity, American forces advancing to the Rhine river noticed that the bridge at Remagen had not yet been blown by the retreating Germans.
A Company of armored infantry supported by a platoon of brandnew "Pershing" tanks set out to secure the crossing.

Advance through the city of Remagen, cross the bridge, destroy the entrance to the railway tunnel and capture the peak of the Erpeler Ley overlooking the bridge. Your Pershing tanks
are some of the first to be used in combat and losing one will earn you a high point penalty after the match.

In real life the Germans did set off the charges on the bridge as the Americans were crossing it, but failed to destroy the bridge. It became, however, temporarily uncrossable by tanks. Because of this, there is a "rough" hex blocking movement over it.
German forces around the bridge are weak, consisting of convalescent and Volkssturm troops. Flak and pioneer units are also in the vicinity and may be used to counter attack your bridgehead. We do not expect enemy tanks.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Americans.
Quote:

Too little, too late

USA
vs.
Germany

Date: 23rd of March, 1945
Location: Remagen Bridgehead

Part of the "Rhineland" series of scenarios

Designed By: Ts4EVER

In the last two weeks the Germans have desperately tried to destroy the Ludendorff bridge that was so surprisingly captured by our forces on the 7th.
To accomplish this, they used among other things jet fighters, V2 rockets and even frogmen. While the bridge did eventually collapse, American engineers had a secondary one up in no time. It seems that now,
on the eve of the American breakout attempt and the Rhine crossings in the north, the Germans are trying to collapse the bridgehead by ground counter attack.

A Company of the 1st US infantry division, supported by some Sherman tanks, is occupying an exposed forward position in the little village of Fernegierscheid. Listening posts have recently been driven out of the surrounding wooded valleys by German patrols.

The Germans are preparing an attack on the village, using the cover of the forests. Hold the position and destroy any Panzer attacking the allied position. Note that due to close proximity to the Kassel tank factories, the Germans have fielded an unusual number of heavy tanks and tank destroyers in this area.
Because of this, a platoon of M36 GMCs is held in reserve.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Americans.

Operation Voyage, the breakout from the Remagen Bridgehead, is shaping up to be a resounding success, with the depleted German forces disintegrating everywhere. The spearhead of the 3rd US Armored Division is closing in on the town of Altenkirchen, where a major German repair depot is suspected.

The objective is to reach the outskirts of Altenkirchen as quickly as possible. Recon forces will brush aside retreating Germans on the road, while follow on tanks and infantry will deal with any serious opposition.

German resistance is weak and disorganized, however, they will use any bottleneck they can find in order to ambush you and inflict casualties.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Americans.

General Rose of the 3rd Armored Division was the highest ranking American officer killed in action during World War 2. On March the 30th 1945, he was moving north towards Paderborn as part of Task Force Welborn. As they passed the castle of Hamborn the column was ambushed.

The enemy consisted of a platoon of Kingtiger heavy tanks of the 503rd Heavy tank bataillon, which were deployed to support infantry of SS Panzer-Brigade Westfalen. Having been driven off earlier by American air power, they now emerged from the woods and started to shoot up the American convoy from the flank. The terrain objectives are relatively insignificant: the goal is to take out American forces and the HQs, while sustaining as few casualties as possible.

General Rose was trapped between wrecks and a Tiger tank. Trying to surrender, he was shot to death by the tank commander. When asked about the cause of this war crime later, the German commander responded: "The devil was loose on that road."

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Germans. Note that there is already an older scenario depicting this action, however I believe that this take is the more historically correct one.

Yesterday, General Rose of the 3rd Armored division was killed in a German ambush. The Allies had no time to dwell on this development though: The drive on Paderborn was still on, and resistance was stiffening.

The twin village of Kirch- and Altborchen is a local center of resistance, nicknamed "Bazooka Town". In order to clear it, flamethrowers and engineering equipment has been dispatched.

The enemy consists of SS infantry, which makes up their lack of training and proper equipment through countless anti tank rockets and sheer fanaticism. They will have to be burned out of every house and basement. Heavy armor from the 503rd Heavy Tank Bataillon is supporting them.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Americans.

Hi,
this is the third and final installment of my "Rhineland" scenario series. Now technically we are getting far away from the Rhine, but I will still call it "Rhineland" for now... ;)

Germany

Date: 9th of April, 1945
Location: The Aller river near Rethem

Part of the "Rhineland" series of scenarios

Designed By: Ts4EVER

Suffering from increasing manpower shortages, the Germans raised some divisions from now useless Kriegsmarine personell. One of them, the 2. Marine-Grenadier-Division, was thrown into the fray against advancing British troops in Rethem, on the Aller river.

In order to defend the bridge, our naval infantry is concentrated in several strongpoints in and around the city of Rethem. The division uses the new Volksgrenadier type organization. We are supported by trainmounted 10.5cm Flak guns from Flakregiment 122(E). They are parked in front of the trainstation and have been camoflaged and reinforced with sandbags, so we cannot move them. Some Flakvierlings from the same units are also attached.

The enemy attack will probably be undertaken by the 53rd Welsh division, supported by some tanks. We have no tank support ourselves.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Germans.

The attack on Rethem by the 53rd Welsh is not going great, so we are looking for alternative ways over the Aller river. Last night a small unit from the 1st Commando Brigade seized a railroad bridge over the river and formed a small bridgehead.

You have two objectives: Defend the bridgehead against attacks by enemy marines and advance on the road bridge to the east, destroying any unit guarding it.

The enemy consists of naval infantry and static fortress units. The marines might be supported by tank destroyers.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the British.

We tried to break out of our bridgehead towards the north yesterday, but lost one of our new Comet tanks to a Tiger with the turret number F02. Today we will try again.

You command the armoured spearhead of 29th armoured brigade, consisting of Comet tanks and infantry mounted in apcs. Your objective is to reach the end of the map, breaking out into open country. This will allow us to advance on Hamburg and the Elbe river, linking up with the Russians.

The road is guarded by a lone Tiger and some SS infantry.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the British.

Date: 15th of April, 1945
Location: Stadensen

Part of the "Rhineland" series of scenarios

Designed By: Ts4EVER

It is shortly after midnight: elements of the 15th Scottish division are laagering in the town of Stadensen, when the pickets stationed at the village entrances report the sounds of tracked vehicles approaching...

Transport and ammunition carriers are strewn about the village. They are worth more points than usual, so try to defend them against German attacks. To symbolise men having to wake up and mount their vehicles, you will receive your main force as reinforcements int he town. In the beginning you only control your listening posts. Your main force consists of Infantry, Churchill tanks and tank destroyers.

The enemy force is from the Panzer Division Clausewitz, one of the last Panzer units ever created by the Germans in World War 2. They are equipped with self propelled guns and halftrack mounted infantry.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the British.

German forces are believed to be weak, but could have support from some tanks or assault guns. To combat this, the 17th Airborne has received some of the new 57mm recoilless rifles.
Some more backstory regarding them in this operation:

a. Twenty 57mm recoilless guns and two 75mm recoilless guns were dropped with the airborne operation around Wesel. Preliminary reports have been very favorable. One 57mm gun knocked out three tanks and one or two knocked out two tanks. This information was given by an officer who investigated the performance of the weapons, but he was unable to identify the types of tanks destroyed. The 57mm guns weighing 40 pounds were employed with two-man teams, and continuous employment caused exhaustion of the men. The size of the teams is being increased for coming operations. The 75mm guns weighing 100 pounds were mounted on the cal. 50 mount on Jeeps, and this combination proved satisfactory. Appropriate TO's and E's are required to cover the introduction of these new weapons.

Wingen-Sur-Moder

US Army
vs.
Germany

Date: 6th of January, 1945
Location: Wingen-sur-Moder, France

The deepest penetration during Operation Nordwind was achieved by a Kampfgruppe of the 6th SS Gebirgsjaeger Division "Nord". Infiltrating through the wooded hills they overwhelmed the HQ of the 1/179th Infantry in a surprise attack. They took up defensive positions in the small Alsatian town.

Now the 45th Infantry Division, supported by tanks from the 781st Tank Battalion, tries to push them out of their position. Earlier attempts have all failed due to fanatic enemy resistance, but the enemy force is slowly melting away.

The German force consists of several companies of SS mountaineers. They were unable to move their heavy weapons across the mountains, so they are not supported by antitank guns, artillery or tanks.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Americans.

Highlanders at Gerbini

Great Britain
vs.
Germany

Date: 20th to 21st of July, 1943*
Location: Gerbini Crossroads, Sicily*

A few days ago the 51st Highland Division managed to establish a bridgehead across the Dittaino river. The next objective is the airfield near Gerbini. A night attack by the 7th Argyll and Sutherland highlanders, supported by Sherman tanks and 2 companies of the 1st Blackwatch Highlanders, will seize the crossroads and trainstation close to the airfield.

The start line is a German antitank ditch. Artillery and tank support is available.

The enemy main line of resistance runs in front of the farm complex near Gerbini crossroads. We are facing the Hermann Goering Panzer Division, so expect mechanised infantry, supported by tanks. They are dug in and have laid mines. Use the cover of darkness to close the distance with the enemy positions.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the British.
Quote:

Counter Attack at Dawn

Great Britain
vs.
Germany

Date: 21st of July, 1943
Location: Gerbini Crossroads, Sicily

Having seized the crossroads and station at Gerbini during the night, the 51st Highland division faces ferocious German counter attacks in the morning.

While the objectives are in British hands, the area is far from secure, with German tanks roaming the orchards and sniper as well as MG fire landing among the allied positions. It is clear that a counter attack is brewing.

Contact with A and C companies at the trainstation has been lost and they are feared captured. Anti tank guns need to be moved up and brought into position before the Panzers of the Hermann Goering Division start their assault.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the British.

Into the valley of death

Germany
vs.
Soviet Union

Date: 25th of October, 1944
Location: Dukla Pass, Polish-Slovakian Border

Russian troops have gained access to the Dukla Pass. If they manage to break into open country to the south, Slovakia will be open to their advance.

Remnants of the 357. Infanterie-Division have established a hasty blocking position just outside the passes. They have to keep the overwhelming Soviet forces bottled up until help from the 1. Panzerdivision can arrive. Due to the heavy fighting here, the area aroundthe village of Dobroslava will soon be known as the "valley of death".

Soviet forces include infantry and large numbers of tanks and tank destroyers. They have artillery and air support. Your task is to pin them down in front of the infantry positions and then destroy them with artillery and tanks. Once the situation develops in our favor, counter attack into the pass to gain advantageous positions for future battles.

Semi-Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Germans.

Hi,
back again with more scenarios. In the last months (basically since late last year) I have been working on a new large scale scenario project, similar to my Rhineland scenario series.
Sadly I wasn't able to get the first part finished in time for the patch, but at least there will be a lot of time to test them, I guess...
Anyway, the series is about the 2nd battle of Kharkov in May 1942, the Russian attempt to regain the city after its loss in 1941. This time I was able to use the advanced editor as well as the venhola site, allowing me to make really realistic and good looking maps.
Each scenario is designed to be played from one side and in fact some might not work with the AI at all, since I made an effort to include unusual scnearios or win conditions. Many of the scenarios will be linked, so if you play them in order you might end up playing against the same force you commanded in the last battle...
The first part of the series covers the first two days of the Russian offensive in 8 scenarios.
Anyway, these are the scenarios:

This intro is in each scenario but I will only write it down once here:

Quote:

Background 2nd Battle of Kharkov: Following the successful winter offensives in 1941, Stalin was keen to keep the pressure on the enemy, hoping to preempt another assault on Moscow with his own offensive. He was especially in favor of going on the offensive in the Kharkov sector, the city having fallen to the enemy in the summer of 1941. The attack was to be undertaken by the South-West-Front in a pincer movement, from the Barvenkovo salient and the Stariy Saltov bridgehead. Once massed artillery had broken through the German line, mobile group would be fed into the breaches to encircle AOK6 and reconquer Kharkov. However, due to supply issues, especially with artillery ammunition, as well as the undetected presence of German mobile reserves, the plan soon proved ill-advised...

Tank Panic at Fedorovka

Soviet Union
vs.
Germany

Date: 12th of May, 1942
0645 Hours
Location: North-East of Kharkov

Briefing: You are in command of a battalion of the 226th Rifle Division, supported by engineers and tanks from the 36th tank brigade. The tanks are foreign models with very good armor, but they don't have HE ammunition, making the destruction of antitank guns problematic. Your task on this first day of the offensive:
Cross the Babka river in a fast and decisive movement with your infantry and tanks. Then seize Hill 199 from the German forces occupying it and advance in the direction of Nepokrytaya. Clear mines along the river before advancing your tanks. Our artillery support is limited and we have no heavy guns on call, but the long stalemate allowed us to map out German defenses and prepare target reference points.

Your enemy is infantry in depleted battalion strength. They are part of "Gruppe Winkler", an improvised unit of the 294. Infanterie-Division. The enemy is positioned in trenches and had time to erect barbed wire obstacles and plant mines. We believe that they have antitank guns in support, but the armor of our English tanks should withstand most models.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Russians.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Historical outcome: The Russian attack in this sector was swift and well-prepared. General-Major Aleksandr Gorbatov's 226th Rifle-Division managed to cross the Babka river with a rifle battalion and 14 Matilda and Valentine tanks. Gruppe Winkler was dug-in, but after their only 5cm anti-tank piece was knocked out, the infantry panicked, much like the French and Russians had in 1940 and 1941. They abandoned their positions and retreated towards Nepokrytaya in an unorganized rout, the Russian tanks in Hot Pursuit, thus exposing the flank of Gruppe Reck in Peschanoye to the south.

Desperate Stand

Soviet Union
vs.
Germany

Date: 12th of May, 1942
1000 Hours
Location: North-East of Kharkov

Briefing: You are in the unenviable shoes of the commander of Gruppe Winkler. While reports are confused, it is clear that the bulk of your infantry has just fled before a strong Soviet offensive and are streaming towards your regimental command post in the rown of Nepokrytaya in a confused and unorganized manner. The retention of this important road hub is of the utmost importance, so a defense must be organized immediately.
Under your immediate command you have: 2 artillery batteries (10.5cm), a group of artillerymen hastily outfitted with infantry weapons, some flak and your regimental staff. Remnants of the infantry are fleeing towards Nepokrytaya and will come under your command in a piecemeal fashion. The guns have been supporting the infantry throughout the morning and are all but out of HE ammunition, however, in light of the heavy Russian tanks they all have some emergency tank defeating ammunition on hand that might prove useful, provided the guns are brought into good ambush positions.

The exact makeup of the enemy force is unknown, but stragglers report heavy tanks, as well as infantry.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Germans. In fact, the German ai will not cope with this scenario well.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Historical outcome: Overconfident from their remarkable success earlier in the morning, Russian tanks of the 36th tank brigade raced ahead of their infantry into the town of Nepokrytaya. In a desperate move, 2 German artillery batteries engaged the armor in close combat, knocking out 6 Matilda tanks and beating back the attack. The town had to be abandoned in the evening, after the guns had expended all ammunition. The lack of effective antitank guns meant that the Germans were forced to use their divisional artillery in this role throughout the campaign, leading to the loss of not fewer than 16 batteries throughout AOK 6.

Falling Back

Soviet Union
vs.
Germany

Date: 12th of May, 1942
1220 Hours
Location: North-East of Kharkov

Briefing: You are in command of Gruppe Reck, a task force of the 294. Infanterie-Division. You were originally tasked with holding the strongpoint in the village of Peschanoye, but the disorderly retreat of Gruppe Winkler from Hill 199 has made this task impossible. Soviet units have infiltrated the terrain in your flanks and are preparing to envelop your unit. Because of the serious situation, you have prepared an orderly retreat into fallback positions to your south-west.
Gruppe Winkler consists of two infantry companies and your regimental staff, as well as heavy support weapons. These weapons have already fallen back towards the new positions and are set up to provide covering fire. Your unit is one of the first to have received the new MG42, which should prove useful in this scenario. Pull back your battered forces from Peschanoye immediately and set up a series of delaying positions in front of your new front line. Note that the victory hexes in Peschanoye are of low value, since you have decided to give up your position. However, your infantry units and especially your staff will give the enemy additional points when defeated, so pull them out of the village to preserve them for future battles.

The enemy consists of the 124th Rifle Division, supported by the 13th tank brigade. They have all but enveloped your initial position and will attack you from three sides, if given the chance. Assume that you are heavily outnumbered.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Germans. In fact, the German ai will not cope with this scenario well.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Historical outcome: In contrast to the rout of Gruppe Winkler, Gruppe Reck managed to stage an orderly retreat out of their untenable positions in Peschanoye, inflicting serious casualties on the pursuing Soviets by utilising their new machine guns.

Overmatched at Grushino

Soviet Union
vs.
Germany

Date: 12th of May, 1942
0630 Hours
Location: South of Kharkov

Briefing: You have been assigned to command a rifle battalion of the 393rd Rifle Division, part of Army Group Bobkin. Your task is to mount a fixing attack against German elements in front of the village of Grushino, in support of our main effort to the north. The artillery preparation will begin at 0630 against identified German trenches. In addition to your battalion support weapons, a few tanks from the 7th tank brigade have been assigned to your force. Due to a clerical error, air support is not available.
Your task is as follows: Attack immediately after the artillery preparation. Seize the enemy positions and drive them out of the village of Grushina. Then feed your divisional cavalry scouts into the penetration and scout in a south-western direction to investigate the possibility of a deep penetration towards Krasnograd.

The Germans holding this sector belong to the 454. Sicherungs-Division. This is a rear-area unit that is mostly equipped with obsolete and captured weapons. We do not expect heavy antitank weapons or armor, but there will be obstacles and mines in front of their positions.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Russians.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Historical outcome: The 454. Sicherungs-Division was completely overwhelmed by the initial attack. Their elderly and looted weapons proved no match for the heavy Russian armor and they had only been issued with exactly ten of the new Stielgranate 41 ammunition, which had been designed to make the old Pak35 gun viable again. By 1000 they had retreated up to 6km. Bobkin realised a golden opportunity lay before him: He brought up his 6th Cavalry Corps and committed it into the breakthrough by the evening, hoping to exploit quickly towards Krasnograd.

Bloody Dawn

Soviet Union
vs.
Germany

Date: 13th of May, 1942
0730 Hours
Location: North-East of Kharkov

Briefing: The second day of the Soviet offensive has just dawned. You are in command of a rifle battalion of the 175th. Rifle Division. Yesterday evening your forces managed to encircle the German Stuetzpunkt at Varvarovka, which is held by a small force of about 200 Germans from the 79. Infanterie-Division. A strong German counterattack prevented further progress, but today your units are ready for the final assault on Varvarovka.
Clear the strongpoint of German troops by launching a concentric attack against the dug-in German. You have additional machine-guns, artillery and air support available. Tanks from the 84th tank brigade are in the process of moving westwards and some might support your attack later. After taking Varvarovka, our forces will envelop the village of Ternovaya to the east, which is believed to be held by Germans in regimental strength.

The force holding the village consists of about 200 Germans. They might have some mortars and guns in support. If we push them hard, they could very well attempt to break out of our encirclement by attacking towards the west.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Russians.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Historical outcome: The village of Varvarovka was overrun by Soviet forces early on the 13th of March. The Russians advanced west next, in an effort to also encircle the more substantial strongpoint at Ternovaya, which was held by Kampfgruppe Grüner. A skillful delaying action kept the Russians from enveloping the village and the Soviets decided to bypass it instead, leaving it as a thorn in their rear in the days to come.

Schmidt-Ott attacks

Soviet Union
vs.
Germany

Date: 13th of May, 1942
1300 Hours
Location: North-East of Kharkov

Briefing: By the middle of the second day, things were looking grim in the north-eastern sector of the offensive. The front of the 294. Infanterie-Division had been shattered, with Russian troops from the 226th Rifle Division a mere 18 km away from Kharkov. It was now that the Germans launched the first of their counter offensives, much quicker than the Russian high command had anticipated.
You are playing as Oberstltn. Schmidt-Ott, commander of the Kampfgruppe named after him. It consists of the 3rd Battalion, Panzer-Regiment 6 and 1st Battalion, Schuetzen-Regiment 3, both part of the 3rd Panzer-Division. In this battle you will directly command the spearhead of this Kampfgruppe, consisting of one company from each of the regiments. A towed artillery battery will also arrive on the battlefield shortly. Having finished their mission over the Crimea, the Stukas of STG77 have been assigned to this sector and stand by to give your force close air support. You have just started your assault against the 124th Rifle Division, aiming in the direction of Nepokrytaya, which was lost to the enemy yesterday evening. You have already broken through several Russian regiments, which were unsupported and routed by the suddenly appearing Panzers.

The Russian division has been shattered and is completely disorganized. Push them out of your way and seize the approach to Nepokrytaya.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Germans.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Historical outcome: In a reverse of the situation of the previous day, the Russians were forced to turn their divisional artillery against the marauding Panzers, however, they only managed to knock out 3 of them before they were forced to retreat towards Nepokrytaya. Their flank in danger, the 226th Rifle Division was also forced to pull back from their spearhead positions near Kharkov. In a puzzling move, the Soviets had combined the 13th, 36th and 133rd into the ad hoc 22nd tank corps and pulled them from the line, exposing their infantry. Faced with the sudden German attack, parts of the corps were committed to stabilize the situation, but accomplished little for the cost of ten tanks.

To the green fields beyond

Soviet Union
vs.
Germany

Date: 13th of May, 1942
1130 Hours
Location: South of Kharkov

Briefing: On the 9th October 1760, Frederick the Great's Berlin surrendered to a force of Austrian light cavalry and cossacks that had penetrated far behind Prussian lines on one of their feared raiding missions. As the commander of a task force belonging to the 137th Cavalry regiment, you find yourself part of that proud tradition. Yesterday Russian forces penetrated the enemy lines near Grushino with surprising ease, allowing deep exploitation towards Krasnograd. Under your command are two cavalry companies, a battery of light artillery and a platoon of BT fast tanks from 7th tank brigade. These light tanks are obsolete, but the only models quick enough to keep up with a cavalry advance.
Your task is to reach and secure the bridge over the Orel river and move on in the direction of Krasnograd. On the way you are to annihilate the rest of the shattered enemy security forces, which are strung out along the road in panicked retreat. The destruction of enemy ammunition carriers and transport will net you additional victory points.

Your enemy is the ill-fated 454. Sicherungs-Division. Ill equipped and ejected from their dugouts, they should be able to offer only little resistance, but they might have been able to tow away some of their light antitank guns.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Russians.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Historical outcome: A lightning advance allowed the Soviets to cross the Orel river, advancing towards Krasnograd, which at this point was virtually undefended.

Into the gap

Soviet Union
vs.
Germany

Date: 13th of May, 1942
1200 Hours
Location: South of Kharkov

Briefing: When the Russians started their offensive for Kharkov, they had not anticipated how close some German reserve units were stationed to the breakthrough sectors. You are in command of a battalion of one such unit, the 113. Infanterie-Division. In addition to your organic heavy support weapons, you have elements of the 244. Stug-Abteilung in support. While their vehicles are not equipped with the new long 75mm gun, they have a few HEAT rounds that can defeat Russian tanks. Most of you organic antitank weapons consist of the outdated Pak 36, but some have been issued with the new Stielgranate 41 round. Note that these are only effective over very short distances though. Your force is in the process of arriving on the Kharkov battlefield and will enter combat piecemeal. You will have to decide which part of your line needs reinforcements most.
Yesterday the 454. Sicherungs-Division routed in the face of a strong enemy attack. Your task is to plug the resulting gap in the German line by creating a new defensive line along the Orel river at Efremovka. To achieve this, you need to seize key terrain on your side of the river before the Russians arrive, hold it and then, if at all possible, launch a counter stroke to push the Soviets back from the river. After the battlefield is under our control, we can start to consolidate our positions and dig in.

Intelligence is confused, but it appears you are facing elements of the 266th Rifle Division and the 38th tank brigade. The Russians have ample air support as well.

Historical Scenario, designed to be played as the Germans.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

The 113. Infanterie-Division reached Efremovka in the nick of time and managed to establish a new defensive line. A five battalion counter attack in the evening threw the Soviets back across the river and stabilized the situation. However, Russian cavalry was still streaming through the Grushino corridor in the direction of Krasnograd.

PLEASE NOTE: With the release of winSPWW2V12 these scenarios have been added to the patch as 766-773 and the earlier ones in this thread had been added previously

Ok....... these will be added to the patch as 766-773. There was one scenario affected by OOB changes and I am correcting it now.
By all means, people should DL and play these but be advised when the patch is release they will be taken down so player do not DL and overwrite scenarios to get ones that are already in the patch renumbered.

FYI there are now 255 scenarios in the next patch

Was it deliberate that the two Stalinez 65 in Desperate Stand are immobilized in the middle of the Road?

Speed bumps perhaps?

Great... it means we don't have a new problem we didn't know about to deal with.

Something like that is worth mentioning in the scenario write up ( future reference )

These are all in the new patch now, so don't download them anymore!
As always, feedback is very much appreciated, even if it is just to show that someone actually plays these... ;)

I played Schmidt-Ott attacks and enjoyed it. Lovely map, I assume Venhola

Thank you! And yes, all the maps in the series are from Venhola. New scenarios are in the works and will be coming "soon".

Thanks! I actually made that map twice, once for winspWW2 and once for the BF2 mod Forgotten Hope 2:

Re: Ts4EVER scenarios

527 I played over a span of 4 days and was very much a " just one more turn tonight" kind of scenario.

There was one odd thing though and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the scenarios design. The airstrikes all came in from the top and I think in most instance made the attack then immediately reversed direction and left the map the way they came in and *to me* that is new behaviour but asking around a bit others have said they think they have seen that happen before but it's a new one to me..usually they continue off the map in the direction they were heading and because the air is all re-enforcement it's the AI that picked those attacks. It certainly has no direct effect on gameplay but it was a bit of a surprise the first time as was the two blue on blue instances it did to itself
