Neopangea Cities of the Amazons (scenario)

1 Attachment(s)
This scenario uses the Neopangea (large) map you can find here http://tnahcem.ifrance.com/ . It's a medium difficulty scenario designed for solo play with any nation, giving far more chances for the AIs to be competitive than in a normal game, but not as hard or heavily modded as "Orania Nasty edition".

Each pretender start with two forts in the same region including a big city with special sites, an amazon or amber clan poptype, 70 PD and 5 commanders on it (2 amazons + 2 sages + 1 troll commander with some gear).

Many neutral forts with sites designed to be usable by the AIs are also on the map, as well as provinces with special poptypes (the AIs always like to recruit indeps unit, but it's not a bad thing when these indeps are trolls, elephants or troglodytes) and special garnisons.

(notes :
*I've not labelled the file as a scenario to allow choices of indep strength, research difficulty etc..
*As I've always used a #land and not #setland command to select neutral provinces, all special neutral troops are added to the random garnisons and you can adjust the difficulty by setting a low or high independant strength
*I recommand to play with very difficult research as everybody have research facilities at start.)

New and probably final version available (lots of sites and special garnisons added, new start positions for some nations, etc...).

Also I've made some map files for specific nations (to boost more the IAs) downloadable here .

thx for this, will try it asap (havnt seen you around before)

i think this will be fun, im guessing you picked sites thematic for each race?

double edit: just checked all races and i like what i see. my only problem is that ermors is a little overpowered if using a death theme. it has a wraithsword, cause fear, and is blessed (and with most death themes pretenders being uber mages that is a very powerful tool)

It is very nice indeed. I wonder if it would be possible to also have a version for the small neo pangaea map.

Perhaps I'll make one but it's a bit long to reassign all provinces numbers, and harder to find space on a smaller map for 17 viable starting positions with 2 non adjacent forts, not too close to other players, etc... so when I'll find time.

First I plan to... win my test game. And some AIs perform really well. I'm in turn 80 with a standard Ctis and I'm still not first in some areas, even if I've prevently destroyed Ermor. The Abandoned Lab tip to make AIs exploit neutral forts and recruit indie mages seem to work well {edit : in fact it wasn't working I guess the AIs just had found some random sites with labs) I often see Shadow Seers, Adepts of the Golden Order etc in ennemy armies, and some AIs made a good use of the Library at start (the Pangea and Arco AI were before me in research up to about turn 70). But some other nations are stagnating since the beginning, I've probably to change some starting positions or give more troops at start to prevent them to suicid their troll prophet and amazons in the first turns against strong indies. I also plan to add a strong static caster to the initial commanders of the cities, to be sure that the AIs use their magic bonus.
