#12 Armed Intervention 1999 campaign

Decided to finally give this one a go.

It's an Canadian amphip assault on the Ecuador coast for the first battle.

The premise for the battle is to land by sea take the town and rescue some civilians when the hotel is secured, by Seaknight air evac.

My landing went well with not much resistance (except for some snipers, scouts some reserves and RCL's and other nasties hidden in town) it appeared to be a fairly easy operation it seemed.

And then i got to the hotel, the civilians came out and seaknight's flew in to evacuate.

Then all hell broke loose, reserves came out for a fight,
Ecuadorian Mech special force's countered attacked got to be some wicked street fighting.

To make matters worse, lost 2 Leo's to friendly Hornets airstrikes, also had bad arty calls on my own guys as well in the confusion in town.

Although in the end i did evac all civilian's safely through the AA, by luck and a prayer, and captured all VL's,i did suffer major loss's.

Not exact but score was around 6100-1500 seems fine, but there is almost no repair (13pts) for the next battle:(

That's all good i'll just have be a bit more careful next time, will see how the next one goes;)

I couldn't stop playing till the first was done,about 2 1/2 hours

Thanks to wulfir for this exciting campaign!

You might find this pretty hard you lost quite a bit already by the sounds of it.
Did ages ago you have a very varied assortment of troops its important to know who is good at what & use them accordingly.
Once a unit is one or 2 men down you may want to consider pulling it out as it only takes 1 or 2 points to repair, a dead unit is just that you will never replace him.

Good advice indeed,

Looking at my roster,i don't think i did as badly as i may of made it seem.

Here is the lowdown:

Destroyed units
1 scout
2x jeeps
2x leopards
1 tow team

Damaged units (not availible for next battle)
2x Apc(M113A2)
1 Apc eng.dozer

Still have plenty scouts and all leg units have some sort of transport, although have to piggyback some on the Leo's.

No Aux support this time,i'm on my own, eyes in the sky would been helpful;)

You are supposed to be playing as Canadians not the good old USA if I remember the mission breif USA asked them to step in.
From what I can now gather the majority of pain inflicted on your troops was Blue fire.
STOP IT

Can you explain WTF,you are refering to?

I'm playing as the Canadians!

Not the U.S.

Or maybe what you don't understand is not everyone is trying to cheat, certainly not in a User created campaign.

You may do that, but not "I"

Back it up,or stay the hell, outa my thread:rolleyes:

:hide: Cripes I am in the force commanders gunsights

Cheating??

Realise you are Canadians was insinuating that played as if you were U.S.

In other words not only did you cause havoc to the enemy you also manged to cause more damage to your own forces than they did, whoops.

No probs I should have been clearer, pretty rare I shoot my own guys with standoff weapons but strafing runs are another matter. WW2 therefore tends to be when I have the odd little disaster & I have learnt not to drink while watching the replays after destroying a keyboard while watching my pilots made their run. Kronenbourg & keyboard dont play well together :)

I got over losing the 2 Leo's fairly well, trying looking at it as the cup is still half full right?:D

Second battle "is" a test of the nerves so far, roadblocks mines, snipers, hidden mmg's and med. mortar's raining hell,it's a tough one.

I'll try not bashing my keyboard:D
