Generated Campaign question.

I'm generating a June 1941 campaign game on the Russian Front but the force size generated gives Purchase Points close to 5,000. That is too large of a force to suit me.

Is there some way for me to lower the force sizes? I'd like to play a Generated Campaign with a smaller force size.

Thanks.

Re: Generated Campaign question.

I can't comment on the parameters of a generated campaign as I usually use a long campaign format. But I get to select the force size. Currently running one at 1200 points.

When you start a campaign the first page includes a button to access Preferences...press that and set your points to whatever you want......BUT, just because you are offered 5000 points does not mean you have to take it......the AI buys based on the points you have NOT what you were offered at the start

Re: Generated Campaign question.

You are buying your own forces - correct?

Well then if you want a 1000 point core then you spend just 1000 points, simples. The other 4000 points is "wasted" the AI doesn't spend 5K points if you only spend say 1K!.

Long and generated campaign points are (your core value) + (any supports you bought)= Your force value. The AI buys based on that and it's mission type.

Scripted user campaigns and as player #2 in a PBEM campaign - then you should use the points given as the scenario designer intends you to have them (Scripted campaign) or your opponent has spent the points that give you that value (PBEM).

Or - set the points to what you want to spend on the core in the preferences screen just before setting up the LC or generated campaign. The setting for P1 points value is what is used by the purchase routines - its up to you to spend that (or not to spend any more than you want, if its set larger).

Perhaps if you are using a computer-bought force, then setting the P1 buy would be appropriate, but in 88% of regular buys, dont spend more than you want, or if the value is too low - set P1 points in preferences before generating.
