Logic puzzle

I'm curious if this community can come up with a solution to this variation on the classic "one guard lies, the other doesn't" puzzle. You have all the information in the first panel of the strip to work with to figure this out. You may use a second and third question only if your first question has proven that you get them, and you must be able to identify all three heads for every possible arrangement. I haven't bothered to work out a full solution, but I'm pretty sure it is actually solvable.

If you are on a quest then most likely you have a weapon of sorts. A bow/arrow is best but I suppose a sword would do. Attack one of the heads. If it tells the truth it will say "you shot me!" if it lies it will say "You didn't shoot me!". try with two heads and you should work out which is which. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Ask them to go through the introduction again.

Re: Logic puzzle

The middle head must be the "sometimes" because of the "Yes, I was lying" statement - if that were true, then it couldn't be the always lying and if false it couldn't be the truthful one (unless the emphasis on the was is somehow significant).

This means the the left and right head are in agreement, which cannot be if one of them is telling the truth and the other isn't.

So which one is the politician and which is the lawyer?

There is only 1 who always tells lies, not 2.

Oooo, good answer. That would do it.
