If I can pick any unit, it would be Lanka's Mandaha. It costs 133 bloodslaves to summon (at B8 I think), but its worth many times that.

How's this:
- he can fly.
- he can command large...

Another cost to add is that of any commander + chaf army patrolling your province to keep unrest down.

Then again, another saving to consider is upkeep - the upkeep you're not paying for summoned...

According to the manual, it should provide 100% cold resistance to my entire army. I cast it and my units get 50% cold resistance instead. Is the manual wrong or is this due to...

True - and definitely a very interesting aspect of MP fighting. However, in this particular case he is flying with map movement 3, and in the middle of my lands.

It is a weapon attribute. A Lanka summon (Davana) has a few weapons which are labelled 'halt sacred'.

I checked the description again and it literally says 'units hit by this weapon will also...

So I had one of my mages summon a king of elememtal earth, but the message says 'no one answered the call'.
