It won't matter what you do because anyone else running the map will be running it with the correct terrain tiles. The map save only looks are what ter tile it is not what it contains

The game "knows" it is looking for Green grass in TER00. If you swap TER00 for TER10 - Snow you will see snow where there was flat...

You open SHP files with SHPEdit. It's in the Game Data / Graphics folder in it's own folder.

If you run the USA OOB you will find what seems like endless "errors" if you run the broken links check but they are not.. they are simply sub-formations made nation 99 usually because they are ONLY...

It has evolved for over 21 years. Rarity codes get a lot of people thinking they have found a problem but sometimes we have to make things rare because of the way the picklist runs through the OOB ...

Slots 775-807 are open and 827 - 998 are open

TS4EVER scenarios fill 808-825 inclusive and SASTroop's latest one is now in slot 826

Your assumptions are incorrect. I will use your example

If the visibility is set to 11 as in your final example on a flat map you will be able to spot and fire at an enemy unit out to 11 hexes...
