Re: Counter battery fire question

Believe me, I had absolutely NO expectation that it would be changing. To fix a lopsided part of the game by saying "don't buy off map artillery" is silly. Your tanks are better then mine, so I...

Re: Counter battery fire question

You miss my point: with artillery having different ranges you can dominate a player in a game, such as I am doing, with him having no way at all to counter it. He cannot move his guns, he cannot...

Re: Counter battery fire question

I didn't think blocks would work either, but to answer your question why not a 199 shoot at a 200, well because it is short of 200 and 199 represents all the lighter field pieces. I honestly think...

CB range suggestion, just for discussion

As a suggestion, and strictly just a discussion here, I don't wish to make anyone mad :), CB could be based upon blocks of range. For example, Syria has 130mm guns with 217 range, while Turkey has...

Re: Counter battery fire question

That explains why I never liked WAW, my buddy had SP3 when it came out and I watched him play it once and said "not for me". I had SP1 and 2; geez, Sp1, you get a whole 20 units to play with. You...

Re: Counter battery fire question

Thanks, that makes sense and should be added into the manual, just my 2 cents, I will pass it along to my opponent as he had no idea either. What is SPMBT based upon, SPIII? WAW is still a version...

Re: Counter battery fire question

Hi Guys; Sorry to raise this old thread but in my current MBT game I purchased 4 batteries strictly for CB which they have been doing a great job of (4x175mm). About 90% of the time when my...

Re: Sd.Kfz. 9

HOLY F***ING COOL! Man I have been wasting so much time. I just did one for where I live and there you go...SWEET. I do have to admit though it does make Courtenay look awful hilly, but I think...

Re: Sd.Kfz. 9

All my maps are built by hand. I get a topographical map with ridge heights and import it into paint.net, then lay a hex pattern over top that fits into the 160x200 Sp editor, and then lay down the...

Re: Turkey SAM utility vehicle

***I just remembered, looking at the rapier picture in the game, that they are on a small trailer like we use to tow behind our jeeps; yes much smaller then a patriot that is for sure!***

Re: Turkey SAM utility vehicle

@Mobhack: Thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it. I never caught on with the "rapier" vs "SAM", just went in one ear and out the other. In that case, as I believe DRG is saying, the other...

Turkey SAM utility vehicle

Setting up a game in 2018 as Turkey, purchased SAMs, in this case Patriot, and deployed them with their utility vehicle. The problem is, of the Hercules, Rapier, Hawk, Bora and Patriot in the OOB...

Re: Spacing of SAMs

I found this link which talks about the Syrian air defence (or lack thereof) and there are also links to much more stuff, such as evaluation of air to ground guided missiles, smart bombs, etc.

Re: Spacing of SAMs

Thanks, but not really giving much detail about actual dispersion. I will keep looking for something, as the SAMs are controlled by a central control unit I don't think they can just be deployed all...

Spacing of SAMs

I have been trying to find out how far apart missile systems, such as the SA6 or Patriot, are deployed in the field. I have been able to find numerous sites discussing how far out they can engage...

Re: Question on infantry SAMs

Weasel, in the Editor, as you may know, the EW of the Blowpipe is adjustable. So you could set it equal or greater to the EW of the opposing aircraft in your scenario. Or, reduce the EW of the...

Re: Question on infantry SAMs

You are correct, did another test, EW1 vs EW1 and the BP fired often. I also noted that against very fast jets they have a much reduced chance of firing too, makes sense. I will see if I can find...

Re: Question on infantry SAMs

Redid the test and used spotter planes and light helos instead, the BP fired at maximum range using all their shots in the turn, so it must be the EW stopping them from shooting.

Re: Question on infantry SAMs

Thanks for all the replies but my question is not in regards to accuracy my question is in regards to them never firing. All told I would say 80 air sorties both in the scenario and the test have...

Question on infantry SAMs

Hey all; So play testing one of the WW2 to MBT conversions I did and have noticed that the blowpipe...blows? Just kidding; in 3 play tests my opponent and I have noted that the BP very rarely...
