Re: Monitor brightness TEST

I did blow about £500-£600 on my monitor only a year or two ago, so it is fairly good.
But yes, I think I have been playing at a 'correct' setting because I've never thought the colours were...

Re: Monitor brightness TEST

Hmm, I just tried your settings, but I had to put brightness on 0% and Contrast down to about 15% before the bar disappeared which was long after the rest of the image was way too dark.
But then I...

Re: Monitor brightness TEST

Yes

Brightness 20/100

Contrast 70/100

I think that it is clear and distinct.

Re: Counter-Battery Process?

If his CB out-ranges you, it is probably also more expensive. Therefore, not firing yours wastes more of his points than yours as his batteries lie dormant.

Re: Best infantry. 1940s post WW2

Nooooo! I thought I was a tactical genius, but I've actually just been exploiting a typo! Argh!

Re: Best infantry. 1940s post WW2

Oh yes, it definately works.

You still have to be careful with these chaps, as the quad bikes are quite slow and will struggle to out run the inevitable counter artillery if you hang around for...

Re: Best infantry. 1940s post WW2

Lately I've been pairing up my British Javelin teams with a Quad bike team from the ordinance section. (Yes, it has a carry capacity!)

Transport and resupply in one cheap little package!

Re: Help creating units graphics

Ooooh! They're pretty good! Where did you find them?
I often long for a sci-fi mod for SP as it provides you with a more appealing way of having a game between two sides that have very different...

Re: My case for can Venezuela get in before 2020?

Oooh, it seems a bit harsh calling the chap a loose cannon, just for trying to defend his country. The guy does seem to be slowly turning a little bit bonkers, but you can hardly blame him. The...

Re: Loading small vehicles into big helicopters

Sorry Don, it does feel like nit-picking bringing up things like this, but I only noticed because of the ammo carrying quad bike. Since you put those into the game, my infantry don't leave home...

Re: Loading small vehicles into big helicopters

I've made the mods now, thanks, so I'm merrily inserting small mobile teams around a large map to my hearts content!

Now I've done those mods, however, I may be getting carried away; does anyone...

Re: Loading small vehicles into big helicopters

Excellent, thank you!

Next question though, is this deliberate, or a just an over-sight?

Cheers!

Loading small vehicles into big helicopters

Playing as Britain, I was hoping to load a light fighting force into chinooks, including some small light vehicles like the quad bike ammo carrier and land rovers, but they are apparently too heavy. ...

Re: Quick question for small arms buffs

I have to say, that turned out to be a great question with some genuinely interesting answers.
Thanks to all!

Re: NEW gameoptions Beta test

I'm running Windows 7.

When using this patch in Full Screen mode, I experience a short lag eg between a left click and the unit actually moving or pressing spacebar and getting the unit info...

Re: MBT's

I'm certainly not defending North Korea here, but I think your comment feels a little one-sided. Firstly, the sinking was back in March, not today. And to call it aggressive suggests there is no...

Re: Op fire filtering

It does feel almost a little too fiddly, but I'm finding that being able to stop my tanks shooting at distant infantry, or wasting valuable ATGMs on light vehicles is often worth the effort.

Just...

Op fire filtering

I've only just started dabbling with this feature, and I can see that it is very powerful, but consequently I find it a little overwhelming in how detailed it can be. It has been around for a while...

Re: Helo shot down at speed of 150mph...

Sticking with the unlucky theme, but a little more down to earth now. I started a little generated campaign today, small infantry force playing against irregulars on 30 x 30 maps.
Second or third...

Re: Great Patch!

I've another little question I'd like you to clear up. Can engineers disarm IEDs and booby-traps?

I'm assuming that they can't both due to the game mechanics of how the IEDs work and that such an...

I'd also like to add my thanks for the patch, and wade straight in with some annoying questions! I know that I'd probaly answer these questions with some game time, but I'm too impatient, dammit.

Re: Ideas how to improve WinSP MBT/WW2 !

Thanks for the answer, and fair enough.

(Though I think it is safe to say that you would not approve at all of how I play sometimes. :D )

Re: Ideas how to improve WinSP MBT/WW2 !

Just a little thought that occured after reading about the new demolition class. Unless I misunderstood, Mobhack said that the IEDs, booby traps etc of the new class would be able to be deployed...

Re: Assaulting units start dug in.

"The new demolition class (in the forthcoming patch) will allow both sides to buy in any battle type and deploy to the half-way line so IEDs can be used. (And the AI Mujadeen, PLO, VC etc will buy...
