Re: Won't Fire AP Ammo

As an aside question,

How does the game decide to use AP or Sabot? Does it always go for the higher penetration? Or does it also weigh against the target? For example, if my target only has 1 for...

Re: Anzac oob

Here's another battle in my LC, it's a special Delay mission (May '41), right after my scrap with ANZAC. It's against ANZAC once more.

And once again, there's no MGs, ATGs (unless you count...

Re: Anzac oob

I've got no problems with the quick battles generated. They tend to pick a pretty balanced set-up, with armour, ATG, MGs and AAA.

It's just in the Long Campaign that I'm seeing some odd effects.

Re: Anzac oob

It was a meeting engagement. I've got a save game for your review.

This is in Turn 0.

Re: Anzac oob

It's my 2nd battle against them.

I'll continue to observe if my 3rd battle yields the same and I'll send the save over for a look-in.

The lack of armour and ATG on their side just makes the...

Re: Anzac oob

I just did a quick check. Launched a quick battle, in the same timeline as my LC (May '41) and you're right, ANZAC brings a fair bit of armour to the battle. In fact, consistently, on the roster, C...

Re: Anzac oob

It's a LC, and around May 1941. My own roster is at around 4,000 points, so they've got a lot to play with as well. AI Tank heavy is off, as I find there's too much Soviet armour after awhile.

I...

Anzac oob

I was playing the German LC, and am currently in North Africa.

What struck me as odd is that ANZACs are always very infantry heavy, and they don't choose ATGs, MG formations.

They like to bring...

Re: An Observation

The suppression of wrecks is very noticeable. I've gone into a number of battles against Soviet, and only did the minimum of destroying all their light and fast armour. Their KVs rout typically when...

Re: An Observation

May be better for wrecks to have a lower density, so that 2 or more block LOS.

I find that I have to relocate my ATGs too fast after taking out the lead elements, due to their LOS heavily hindered...

Re: Demolitions

Thanks, and when you say trip, how is it simulated?

I'm playing Germans and chanced upon a Russian booby trap, so I'm kinda ginger around it. Engineers are a bit behind the main column, so it'll...

Re: hotkey for removing wrecks from screen

Hmm, I found it right after posting that query.

It's "|", on the same key as "\".

I'll just leave it here if anyone were to perform future searches for hiding wrecks.

hotkey for removing wrecks from screen

Hello,

I can't tell if I've remembered incorrectly, but I thought there was a hotkey to remove wrecks from the screen, so as to clean it up a fair bit to tell what's live and not.

If there...

Re-order sequence of core units

Hello,

Is such a feature available? I would like to re-order the sequence of my core units.

For example, my Weapons Company HQ is B0, and I've added a new weapons platoon in AA0-AA3, and I...

Re: "Enjoy the War."

I've played quite a bit with IJA. I usually run an infantry battalion as my core force. Depending on the type of mission, I'll get to spend support points on Armor, Engineers and Recce if it's an...

Re: Chinese Nationalist "Warlord" LC

Can we have some maps of the terrain? Helps give us a better idea of how the battle waxed and waned.

Re: Tactics

ATG in ambush positions. And you allow them to fire only at around 800metres and lesser.

Otherwise keep your tanks in cover and concealment until all the enemy heavies are destroyed.

Re: OpFire?

The current iteration of the game allows op-fire even when the unit has used up all its shots in its own movement phase.

However, op-fire is still dependent on the experience and morale of the...

Re: WinSPWW2 version 6.0 Upgrade patch

Observation:

Not sure if this was all along part of the game, but I realised that the delay for gold spots (Pre-targeted points) changes with the timeline. Started a campaign in '31 and the delay...

Re: Off-board artillery peeve...

Back in my officer training course, we were always taught that for fires to be effective, we need to have eyes on the ground. Makes perfect sense how the current engine runs the fire missions.

Re: The final push towards Berlin 1944-45!

Oh yeah, that's a good point. How big a map are you playing? And how many turns?

I see that you have about a regiment or brigade sized force. I usually play only a battalion's (2,000pts) worth and...

Why are the attached images so small? I can't really see the details, other than the big arrows.

Re: Japanese Long Campaign

It's been awhile since I last updated. I'm still playing the Japanese LC, still stuck in Mongolia/ Manchuria against Soviets. Made the following notes.

a. Soviets early armour is highly dangerous....
