Re: Simple MP setup steps?

If you need some assistance, contact me at AIM alanbernardo21 or ICQ 4046944.

It's really not that difficult to set up a multiplayer game.

Re: Anyone using 1680 x 1050 wide screen

I have a 22" Acer, running also in 16:10, with a native resolution of 1680x1050.

I noticed also that full-screen does not stick. But there doesn't seem to be support in this game for 16:10. ...

Re: Rules Question - Stranded Captial Ships

Cool. Maybe I missed this in the manual.

Re: Rules Question - Stranded Captial Ships

The manual is unclear about this.

Logically, however, one would think that the larger ships cannot be repaired at bases that cannot handle that capacity. If there are no larger bases available...

Re: Wargame of the Year 2008

A suprising statement....

I thought Birth of America 2 would be in the top three. But then that game might have been in last year's list.

Re: MP Problem Fixed with Alternate Method

Explain to me how you can have a LAN address when you don't even have your computers hooked up through a router (or through any other mechanism)?

A LAN is an internal network. Outsiders cannot...

Re: MP Problem Fixed with Alternate Method

I'm only speaking from experience. I've had many diffent providers and with each and every one my IP stayed the same for months upon months. The only time my IP ever changed is when I used a...

Re: MP Problem Fixed with Alternate Method

WPP has always given me my LAN address as my IP. I think that is the case with nearly everyone.

And even if it does give my LAN address, it still works.

Funny thing about GC is, he isn't...

Re: MP Problem Fixed with Alternate Method

Not claiming to be a real expert, but I've been working with computers since the late 1980s.

I've discovered that you are an odd fellow with very little patience, not willing to do some simple...

Re: MP Problem Fixed with Alternate Method

Good to see you got it working. All I know is that I don't have to edit the UserSettings file to host or connect.

One thing I found odd about your Internet connection is that your IP changed...

Re: MP Problem Fixed with Alternate Method

No, I don't think your opponent needs to change anything. The only person who opens the port is the host. The client shouldn't need to do a thing.

Re: MP Problem Fixed with Alternate Method

Change it to anything other than 1941. Try 2336 or something, and see if it works.

I've used Hamachi in the past, when games had only LAN play, or when Internet play was so buggy that it was...

Re: MP Problem Fixed with Alternate Method

I've used Hamachi before, way back when.

But I think you can change the port that WPP uses by editing the UserSetting's file. That way you wouldn't need Hamachi, which is an unnecessary layer.

Re: Select All Ships Feature

I might add to this the ability to delete all empty TFs. So something like "Place all ships to port and delete all empty TFs."

Thanks Much,

Re: Select All Ships Feature

There's another thing I'd like to see.

Sometimes, TFs accumulate and numbers keep going and going. It is then that I like to start over, moving all ships to port at every base.

It'd be nice to...

There is a program out there called "TCP View" which will show what...

[QUOTE
Overall it was a crushing victory.[/quote]

All this seems hard to believe. But if it happened as you say, either you are a very good player or the Allied AI is not very good.

I'm still...

Re: Quick Questions

Thanks for the reply. It would be nice to have numbers there, instead of the bar, or numbers somewhere. Oftentimes it is difficult to know whether a base has grown at all.

Good job on the game...

Re: My Two Cents

I agree: I'm having great fun with this game.

I think most of us just want to make sure the game is working as it is supposed to. A few things also needed clarification.

Re: Quick Questions

Okay, I tried that, sent the Convoy from the West Coast to Luzon along with a TF with one CL, and it did build the base. It took four turns to get the base to a major base (actually three, since on...

Re: Quick Questions

Okay, I've done further tests and sending all ships from all areas to patrol Luzon does not rebuild the base one bit. I did this for four turns. Also, sending a single small ship (CL) from the West...

Re: Quick Questions

I don't know, three Convoy trips without moving a bit in the rebuilding aspect of things? Doesn't sound right. Plus, the Allies have Singapore, a major Allied base, at least in the area. Doesn't...

Re: Quick Questions

Okay, so after turn one was over, I sent the Allied Convoy from the West Coast to Luzon. A green line showed, so according to the manual the convoy should get to Luzon.

Resolving the turn, Luzon...

Re: Quick Questions

All I know is that capturing Luzon does nothing to the numbers. The explanation of the oil victory condition in the game is confusing, to say the least.

In the manual, on page 6, it says:

I wonder, does the same thing happen if you exit the game first before you reload?
