Re: Mounted infantry shooting

Fair call about them being a "niche" item, and that's probably a good enough reason to leave them alone. I'm playing a Russian long campaign which brought cav for recon to the front of my mind.

Re: Mounted infantry shooting

So why have the cavalry units as they are?
If the best representation of WWII cav is the Dismounted cav unit and mounts to move them around, why have cav at all?
If the "shooting from horseback"...

Mounted infantry shooting

Would it be hard to add a flag to vehicles allowing the main weapon of a mounted infantry unit shoot?
The main use here would be to better capture cavalry - rifles fire and they move at speed when...

Level bombers and heavy AA

Would it be hard to have "heavy AA" such as the German 88 shoot at level bombers?

Re: Roundhammer 1943 US Campaign (Spoilers)

Thanks Imp. Can I suggest a change to future releases? Land link the "landing ship" islands to the retreat edge. It would give the player the option to remove them without taking away landing...

Re: Roundhammer 1943 US Campaign (Spoilers)

A question re the 2nd battle.
I found about 3/4 of my vehicles got bogged crossing the mud. They then got pounded by artillery for the rest of the battle causing heavy casualties among my open...

Re: Problem with paratroops in pacific?

Works well enough to at least make it playable. Probably would be more elegant to change the battle type in the longer term.

Problem with paratroops in pacific?

In the first battle I couldn't plot para-drops in the deployment stage due to the "scenario type". Plotting them on turn one had most of them arrive in turn 10 of a 12 turn scenario. Any idea what...

Re: Are autocannon better?

Thanks Andy. If I understand correctly the word
"autocannon" indicates a class 19 weapon. If that's correct could it be added to the description perhaps like this -
Class 19 - Auto Cannon...

Are autocannon better?

Some of the Russian 14.5mm guns are labeled as autocannon while other appear to be machine-guns. What difference does the "autocannon" tag in the unit info make?

Re: Formations as reinforcements

Thanks Mustang, that would ensure it's either a full formation or nothing but there is still the option that none of the ammo dumps arrive. Neat trick though!

Formations as reinforcements

Given reinforcments in scenarios are almost always assigned by the platoon or company, wouldn't it be great if when a formation leader was assigned a turn and % to arrive they rest of the formation...

Re: Trees in the desert

I've made the observation in Australian setting battles. Haven't played/edited a lot of random desert otherwise. When I was editing I found a few trees on hills and none in the valleys. Savannah...

Trees in the desert

Hopefully a simple request - for random maps in desert, can trees be mostly in the low areas instead of on hills? I know thats how Australian deserts work and I'm guessing the same in others.

Re: New Campaign - US Marine riverboats in Vietnam

Thanks for the feedback, the scenarios are a little different so I've re-done the compression again. i'd like to blame technology but I'm pretty sure it was my error

Re: New Campaign - US Marine riverboats in Vietnam

Re: New Campaign - US Marine riverboats in Vietnam

If you go to "edit campaign" and change it from open core to fixed, then save it the fixed core should be there for you. I've just tested it and it works from here.

New Campaign - US Marine riverboats in Vietnam

Hi Guys, this is version 1.1 for the Marines on boats. It's set to play as an open core but if you prefer, change to closed core, there is a closed core force selected. This version should be...

Re: Marine River force in Vietnam

I'm working on an updated version slowly. I'm getting some more specific info on people's opinions. Hope to put version 1.1 out in 2-3 weeks. Any new feedback in the meantime would be appreciated.

Re: Enemy gone walkabout

It's intended to be the first battle in a campaign, the best way to emulate that would be for you to edit it to deploy your troops anywhere east of the police station. Hadn't considered the...

That was the wrong scenario. I attached 225, what I created was 325. Correct one should be attached now, thanks for checking.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've double checked that now. There were (are) no victory hexes off board. Any other suggestions
