Set to AI, yes. Couldn't justify the amount of time for the turns just to keep fighting a lost battle, or guarantee no more stales or delays.

It's hard today to say what the martial arts were hundreds of years ago, what their relevance was. History is distorted and a count of "who won" does not tell what discipline the warriors practiced.

Without going into specifics of CBM or any other mod, it's easy to see how multiple sets of rules are worse than one official one. That said, looking it up when joining a game isn't that hard.
